Hi BJM
I have the following John Spie(ei)r

one born 1825 @ Ardrossan, another born 1831 @ Dalry, another 1841 again @ Dalry and finally another John born 1879 @ Beith

All grandchildren of John Spie(ei)es and Janet Dickie. They had (I think) 12 children

Hi icini
The following may interest you in your search for the Spier/Speir surname. My interest in this family is through a Robert Spier Workman whose daughter married my great-uncle.

Allan Speir living at Glenside West Kilbride married Janet Thomson b 1726 at Finnifoot West Kilbride.
Children were Mary b 1749 at Little Mains Southannan, West Kilbride, James b 1751, Jean b 1754, John b 1759 at Kilruskin West Kilbride (married Janet Dickie in 1802) and Robert b 1763 at Kilruskin d 1834 at Ritchie Street, West Kilbride.

Alan Spier and Janet Thomson are my 5x great grand parents. Have we been in touch or have I somehow missed this post?

Does anybody have any contact info for the Bonnet Makers guild in Edinburgh. Their web site soes not list it. I have several generations of Bonnet makers in the 1700's and am hoping to get a bit more information on their lives.
Thanks

Midlothian / Help needed with will entry
« on: Sunday 16 October 11 17:49 BST (UK)  »
Hi All.
I don't know if any body can help but I am unable to read a will. In fact the only bit I can read is the persons name!!

It is for

Jonet Wyllie     5/11/1640    Sometime spouse to Robert Lauchland Bonnetmaker in Leith Wynd         Testament, Dative and Inventory.      Edinburgh commissary court        CC8/8/59

It's on the bottom 3rd of one page and top 2/3rds of the next. I presume I am not allowed to copy on to here?

Any help or advice on to where I might get help would  be appreciated.

Many thanks

Thanks for the offer of help. Posted the request last year and at the moment not doing anything on the tree as sorting prior to moving. Hope to get back to it one day but thanks anyway
