Denbighshire / Re: EDWARD EDWARDS born 1863 Brymbo/Broughton

Eric

So far I've not come across an Edward Edwards born c 1805 Broughton when researching my family. As the previous posts show the father of my Peter Edwards born 1822 Llanarmon Yn Yale, Denbighshire was also called Peter Edwards and was a farmer (as shown on son Peter's marriage record). There is a possible baptism on the 1 June 1822 baptism in Llanarmon by a Peter and Sarah Edwards but this shows his father was a grocer, not farmer. No other suspects though.  I have found researching Welsh surnames particularly frustrating but perhaps that's all part of the fun !?  If I do come across your chap I'll flag it up on this post.

Thank you so much for your help.  Can you please explain how I can find the relevant census page from the references you've given?

I am so sorry, I've made several blunders in this post.
Edward Edwards was born 1863.
I can only see him in 1901 and 1911 census (with wife and children), but no other census.

Yes his father Peter was born 1822. I didn't have a burial for him.

Edward's marriage to Annie Barratt gave his father as Peter Edwards. I have a baptism 19 Oct 1862, Gresford to Peter and Sarah.

I cannot seem to trace an ancestor, EDWARD EDWARDS, born 1873 Brymbo/Broughton, Denbighshire in the 1871, 1881 or 1891 census records.

Edward’s Father: Peter Edwards.  Mother: Sarah (nee Williams)

I would have expected him to have been listed with his parents in 1871 and probably as a servant in 1881.  He married in 1886 in Gwersyllt, and two children followed before the 1891 census was taken.

(Head) Edward Edwards b.1873 Brymbo, Broughton, Denbighshire
(wife) Annie Edwards (nee Barratt) b.1864 Gwersyllt, Wrexham, Denbighshire
(children)
Elsie Fanny Edwards b.16 Dec 1888, Bradley Mill, Wrexham
Harry Edwards b. 22 Feb 1891, Bradley Mill, Wrexham

Can anyone see Edward in 1871 and 1881, or Edward, Annie, Elsie and Harry in 1891?

Edward and Annie with children in 1901 and 1911.

Any help would be appreciated.

Essex / Re: Who are the parents of William WHITE born 1819 Terling, Essex ?

Rosie99, this has been my problem all along, there seem to be several families with similar names and aged children in the area I’m searching.  :-[  I think I’m unravelling something and then I begin to doubt.  And it doesn’t get any easier identifying William white senior and Sarah May. There are several possibles, and because it’s limited to parish records there’s not much to go on, except centering my search on where the family grew up. I spend a lot of time on Google maps as my geography of Essex is very poor.

Thank you for your interest and information given. The GRO search on Mary White confirms the mmn of the Sarah in the family of William and Sarah White, on Familysearch/FreeReg with children:-
William 1817, Louisa 1819, Edward 1822, Susan 1824, Amelia 1827, James 1830, John 1832, Josiah 1835, Eleanor 1838 and Mary 1844, as "May".

I can see:-
Susan, Amelia, James, John, Josiah and Eleanor in 1841 census
Josiah, Eleanor, Ann and Mary Ann in the 1815 census
Mary Ann in the 1861 census.

William 1817 is probably the Ag lab at Witham, although there are a number of William Whites in Essex.

Can anyone find a baptism for William White senior, circa 1791?

And also a baptism for a Sarah May circa 1798?  I did come across a Sarah Ruth May bap 9 Sep 1796 but she went on to marry Henry Winzar in 1837.

Any suggestions are very welcome.

Essex / Who are the parents of William WHITE born 1819 Terling, Essex ?

Hi everyone

I have been studying a couple born and married in Terling, Essex on 20 Feb 1864 – William WHITE and Elizabeth GUILDER.  They were both born in Terling, Essex.

Elizabeth GUILDER b. 1842 and William WHITE b.1819 according to census records below:-
•   1871 census - William White age 53 son-in-law to head, Hannah Guilder, born and residing in Brick Cottages, Terling.
•   1881 census – William White age 62 head, born and residing Brick Cottages, Terling.
•   1891 census – William White, Widower, age 73 living with married daughter Romia Cartick (?) Brick Cottages, Terling.

I’ve not managed to find William in 1841, 1851 or 1861. He was over 20 years older than his wife Elizabeth Guilder, so she could have been his second wife.

I have been struggling to correctly identify the father and mother of this William WHITE b.1819, and locate them on census records.

There is a marriage in Terling of a William WHITE to a Sarah MAY on 8 Jul 1817 which seems to fit my William White born 1819, Terling but I cannot see a baptism for William with these parents.

I cannot proceed further than these pieces of information - Can anyone help me please?
