Yorkshire (West Riding) / Re: Gutter bottom Hoyland Swaine

Hi Libby,
I'm confused (easily done)
I have Charles Armitage marrying Elizabeth Lockwood in 1855, and not as you say in 1858. Their first child Ann was born in Q2 1857
Marriages Dec 1855
Armitage Charles Wortley 9c 248
LITTLEWOOD Sarah Wortley 9c 248
LOCKWOOD Elizabeth Wortley 9c 248
TOWNEND David Wortley 9c 248
There's also a marriage in 1858 for an Elizabeth Lockwood, but a male name is missing - could this be causing some confusion?
I am unable to find Elizabeth Lockwood on the 1851 census - she's not with her parents at Little Royd, Hoylandswaine
Have I got the right people?
My wife is the fourth great granddaughter of Israel Armitage (1776-1845)
David Fretwell
(not yet connected to Julia Fretwell who married Israel Armitage)

Yorkshire (West Riding) / Re: Timothy & Emma Brown Carlton Yorkshire

I would think that William Smith is the illegitimate son of Emma Smith, born when she was 18 years old. In 1861 Emma and 4 month old William are living with her parents John & Mary Smith at Church Fields, Rothwell.
In 1862 Emma married Timothy Brown.
In 1871 the Brown family are living at Wood Lane, Rothwell
Timothy 26
Emma 28 (nee Smith)
George 8
Tom 7
John 7 mths
Good luck with the Smith's......

Could someone find in the Burial Register, John Thomas Fretwell who died 1883 and his father, Benjamin Fretwell who I think died in 1888.
Many thanks
