Lincolnshire / Re: Marriage of Mark WESTERDALE
« on: Wednesday 11 July 18 15:58 BST (UK)  »
Greetings iluleah
Thank you for your thoughts on my request. Yes, I do have the transcript CD for Exton (and other Rutland parishes) However I have checked the actual registers against that transcript and found a large number of omissions, and errors. I do have Mark WESTERDALE bringing three sons for baptism at Exton, by his "wife" Margaret. The three sons are John 1689/90, Samuel 1691/92 & Mark 1695. Mark junior is buried in April 1696 and Mark the father is buried in July the same year. His widow Margaret then remarries at Greetham in 1696/97.
The main reason I checked the registers in detail was that there were mentions in Exton of this unusual name but some unexplained gaps in the transcript, hence the additional entries. I can send you copies of the updated transcript if that would be useful to your researches.
I did notice the 1601/2 entry but at the moment I have discounted it as being a non Westerdale family event.
Thanks again

Hi Carole W
I didn't get your message. A bit rusty on Rootschat so may be missing it!

I am looking for the marriage of my six times great grandfather Mark Wester(n)dale who lived in Exton, Rutland. He has three sons by his wife Margaret baptised between 1689 and 1695. I am related to his second son Samuel, baptised 1691/2. I have searched most of the parishes in Rutland but hope that he might have popped over the border to Lincolnshire.
I would be delighted to have the maiden name of Margaret
Thanks Delboy31

Hi Sandy

Many thanks for looking. I have several marriage indexes and can see the marriage that you might be referring to as a potential father for my Edward at Milton Malsor, and several references to Collingtree. This might be the parish I need to delve into at some time.

Kind regards
Dalboy

Hi Chatters

Can anyone find the marriage of Edward Gawthorn/e to Mary ??. (I guess between 1800 and 1806) The couple lived much of their life in Roade, Nths. Their children were born from Dec 1806 to Oct 1819, and all six were baptised at Doddridge Congregational Chapel, in Northampton.

I know that Edward died in Jan 1838, aged 61, and was buried in Northampton Hospital burial ground. Therefore born circa 1776.

I only have proof that the family was associated with Roade from 1822 til 1854 when Mary was buried there, so it may be that they came from elsewhere before that.

Cheers

Hi Sandy,

I have been a transcriber for NCRO for about 20 years now. Currently doing St Peter, Northampton. That will cover all the old N'ton parishes once complete. A Mal-n and I have been in close correspondence for some moths now.

Thank you again for your interest and help.

Hello Sandy

You must be very interested in Roddis too? Strange that I have a query against the baptism of Thomas I have it May 11 1723 but I also have it chronologically after an entry for a daughter of Edward & Ann Sep 15 1723. So the year is suspect., and perhaps s/b 1724?

You are a member of NTHS FHS and so am I. Member #38 so an early member.

Do you want to compare notes with my Roddis files? If so I can be reached using the latest edition of Footprints where I have an article on Ann MAYES.

Best wishes

Hi MargP

Yes, I have already taken your advice and looked at the original image and I read it as Isaac RAWETH. Ah well, next one please!

Best wishes
