My pleasure Peter. They were such an interesting family that spurred me on to find their history when Judith died. She was the eldest of 4 daughters. I believe the three younger sisters live in the Hayley Green Hagley area, if I find any other details I will let you know.

Judith sadly died 5 Years ago and my Mom died 12 Years ago, shame I would loved to have asked more. Yes there was a huge fall out over the Business, cannot remember any details, but I do remember Judith talking about it. I met Charles Edward a few times as a child. I remember him as having a florid complexion and silver hair, always very smartly turned out, very much a gentleman.

Many thanks for the update and yes James born abt 1851 and George born about 1862 were brothers. Sons of John 1805 and Sarah 1807. Cecil George 1903 and Charles Edward 1906 were George's sons.  I knew Charles Edwards family very well. His daughter Judith was a very close friend of my Mothers for 60 Years.

This thread is very old but I am also looking for Dunns of Dunns Bank.

My ancestor is Elijah Dunn who married Ann Westwood in about 1845. His father was William Dunn who married Sarah. I'm not sure of her last name.

I wonder if William is a relation to any of the Dunns you all have mentioned.

I have Elijah born 1818 son of William born 1779 and Sarah Whitttaker born 1783 Old Swinford. Wm son of James Dunn born 1743 Dunns Bank he Married Sarah Forrest. James was son of Wm born 1703 he Married a Mary. Wm 1779 and Sarah had 15 Children! Hope this helps.

I don't know where George fits in?  But they must be connected, they were all Chainmakers from Mushroom Green, probably lived there for generations, they were a strong Baptist family, Baptist were not Baptised until they were Adults, but they did keep a Register of Births, I found some of mine at Cradley Baptist Church, but a lot of the records have been sadly lost over the years.  You have some great names there, Faithfull and Hopefull...............That's what everyone on here should be called :)

Staffordshire Lookup Requests / Re: Rowley Regis marriage look up - Sidaway/Dimmock

I'm descended from the Dimmock clan of Cradley, but the furthest I can go back at the moment is George Dimmock (1814 - 1888) who was married to Fanny Yardley (1816 - 1888) in 1831 at St Thomas, Dudley.

Tanja

Think this is your George Tanja, I believe he was born in Dudley Wood Cradley Heath, comes under both Dudley and Rowley Regis, it is actually more Mushroom Green Netherton Dudley than Cradley Heath, the place of birth for that area can be misleading, it is where my Dimmocks came from.

1861 Census: Quarry Bank, Kingswinford.
George DIMMOCK hd.46 Chainmaker b. Dudley.
Fanny DIMMOCK wife 45 b. Dudley.
Thomas DIMMOCK son 20 Chainmaker b. Kingswinford.
George DIMMOCK son 17 Chainmaker b. Kingswinford.
Charles DIMMOCK son 14 Chainmaker b. Kingswinford.
Faithfull DIMMOCK son Schol.5. b. Kingswinford.
Hopeful DIMMOCK son 1 B. Kings ...more

Worcestershire Lookup Requests / Re: William Yardley, John Yardley, Lye (Old Swinford)

I've not come across Wm born 1756, wonder if he was the son of John born 1713 and Mary Hill?  I presume that the two John's 1737 and 1745 were brothers, and the younger one died, not sure on this a bit confusing as to why two John's, one may have just been known as John, a middle name or the like?  This branch are my line, they were on Parish Relief that is why they were moved from Parish to Parish, but yes I agree their fortunes must have had a complete turn around as by 1782 the family were Yeoman, that is a bit of a mystery?  Never found anything which explains their new found wealth, if you do please let me know.  Cheers from Linell.
