Names tally but dad doesnt know addressess as they would be his grandparents and he came to England as a child.  Elizabeth was his mother.  Only remembers Grassbank Machie Bay Bute.  Also have John McAulay age 48 in his year of marriage to my gran Elizabeth Annie his address was Ardescroft Helensburgh County Dumbarton parents John McAulay Farm-labourer and Mary McAulay nee McPhail both decd by 5.10.1916.  I can find no record of John McAulay age 48 death would have been between 1934/36..  Dad said he died before his first birthday which would have been Feb.1934.  Dad lived Grassbank with his mom Elizabeth Annie and siblings,Barbara McMillan McAulay 1918, John 1917, Mary 1924.  Why cant I find his death anywhere? How do you think I could trace Barbara who remained in Scotland when the rest of the family came to England.  We only know she married an Army Officer and was a beauty queen.  You have given me so much help so far, do you think you could help me solve these riddles.xxxx :) :) :) :)

Trying to trace lost family that remained in Scotland in 1930/40.
Barbara McAulay.  Mother Elizabeth Annie McMillan. Father John McAulay dec'd 1935? Brothers John and James Brownlie. Sister Mary. Mothers parents John McMillan (roadman) and Mary Gilmour. Fathers parent John and Mary McPhail both dec'd by the time of John and Elizabethes marriage on 5.10.1916.  They married in the district of Shiskine County of Bute.  Unable to find register of John McAulay death although he died approx 1935 whilst living on Isle of Arran.  Can anyone help me find this. Have tried Scotlands people. Can anyone help my find Barbara or living relatives.
