The match could also be through the second cousin's paternal line -- Montpetit.  Where did OP find the marriage?
Hi Eileen
The match is definately through the Robidoux line. My late Aunt's DNA has several 2nd-4th cousins and I have have been working with a lady through Ancestry who is either a half 2nd cousin or second cousin once removed who is a Laroche.
My late Aunt's second closest match does not know who her paternal Grandfather was so your sleuthing could solve more than one mystery
I am very grateful for you taking time to search the records.

She ran a non profit in Longeueil which is now run by her daughters. Followed in the tradition of her mother Antoinette Robidoux.

Also for clarity, under civil law in Quebec, women keep their maiden names even tho' they may be referred to using their married names.

Antoinette's maiden name was Caron, married to Marcel Robidoux. From Find-a-Grave:

Married in 1933, Marie Catherine Antoinette Caron to Jean Marcel Ernest Robidoux. He was the son of Armand Robidoux and Aline Laroche. She was the daughter of Joseph Caron and Cecile Caron.

The parish records only go to 1941 online.

Thank you so much Eileen my cousin will be delighted to see this information.

Hi Sandra
Thank you for that link to Familysearch I did find that earlier today and no hits.
The person who I know is deceased was Marcelle Robidoux born 16/11/1950 died 16/03/2016 married 14/07/1973 in Rouveile Quebec.
I would think she was also born in Quebec.
Thanks
Gary

Hi
I am the Manager for my late maternal Aunt's DNA test. Complicated story her DNA confirms my maternal Grandfather was not her Father.
DNA has 37% French ethnicity my Aunt was born in February 1941 in Hunstanton Norfolk UK. Her closest DNA match is a second cousin who unfortunately has not responded to messages through MyHeritage or Facebook (luckily has an unusual first name).
I have found her Mother's obit - names daughter and photo matches pictures on Facebook. This led me to her Mother's marriage.
Where can I find Quebec Births/Baptisms online that would give me the parents names the births I am after are in 1950 and 1952.
Thanks
Gary

Ancestral Family Tree DNA Testing / Re: Mystery DNA matches
« on: Saturday 11 September 21 19:24 BST (UK)  »
I had a match on Ancestry high 200 cM should be a second cousin according to Ancestry.

After making contact the person did not know who his Father was. A few weeks later a match at 48 cM to me (sharing 3rd great grandparents) matched the first person at 1800cM turned out to be half siblings.

Would never have found where the second cousin matched without the subsequent DNA match.
