Just been comparing this record again with the information I already have and it looks like the passenger list information may not be particularly accurate as the contact information for Florence is a "friend, D Cowell"  Cowell was Florence's maiden name and her father was David so "friend" should probably be "father".  Harold's return journey was to the same address adding weight to this.

Thanks for the PM Sandra - may follow up on that

Notice on a border crossing Mexico to USA   - arrival El Paso Texas - 11 November 1922 - last residence was Mexico City

UK return passenger list showed Harold J Franey travelling alone and going to 122 Grangehill Road, Eltham London.

Florence A Franey born 1888 passed away Sept 1932 - Ecclesall Bierlow Derbyshire - 9c 371

Sandra

Had found the return trip for Harold in 1922 but not the Mexican border crossing - Looks like he was heading for Mexico City, Mexico  :)

If you are logged in to Ellis Island here is the link for their entry

Genealiza - yes that is his death.  He re-married as Florence died.  He remarried in England.  When he moved to Canada I'm not sure.  I have had contact with his son who still lives in Canada but we have lost touch

Relations of mine travelled to the USA in 1919 and they appear in the Ellis Island Passenger lists.  Their final destination is given as:-  N.M. Mexico City.  As far as I can find there is/was no Mexico City in New Mexico.  So were they headed for somewhere in the state of New Mexico, USA or Mexico City in Mexico?.  If it helps their fare was paid by The Anglo Mex trading company who seemed to have been involved the supply of mining hardware.

Thanks for the answers.  I found more information on the Vienna City Library site where they have digitised Lehmann Viennese address books

Pembrokeshire / Re: St Peter's Church, Milford Haven
« on: Tuesday 26 May 15 11:46 BST (UK)  »

In the fifties there was a fruit and veg shop called the Chapel on the corner of Robert Street and Dartmouth Street. I remember the building, and it did look like a small place of worship. So what were its origins?

I believe this place of worship was a baptist church.  There are now houses on the site (I owned one of them for a while).  The garden walls of the property are the walls of the old church.

As for Saint Peter's church Milford_Lass is correct and it was sometimes known locally as "The Tin Tabernacle" as it was walled with corrugated iron and if memory serves was painted green
