I've looked up my recordsa nd your right Janet was born 22nd May 1892 at home 2 Robertson Place, Kilmarnock. I met her in her daughter's home
( Craigie Ave ) before she went into nursing home this was when I 1st started on family trail, she told me John came to Scotland with his brother who later returned home, after he was rushed into marriage he was homesick and his wife told him to go back and see his family, on reaching his village there was no one there the village no longer existed, she said it was a village, maybe it was destroyed in Franco-Prussian wars who knows, I've tried for over 15 years to find form where John came but to no avail, our local paper did an article about the pits that closed in Kilmarnock area and as I read John was a miner somewhere I'll try that track, what side of the family do you hail from.

I'm also looking for information on David Gilmour/Gilmore from Co Down dob approx 1842 he also move to Scotland don't know when but he married 02/06/1871 an Elizabeth Cairns whose birthplace is Dalry, Ayrshire, any help with these would be appreciated.
