Hi Anne,

I just found a Jacob who landed in Tassie in 1836.
Check on this site:
www.archives.tas.gov.au/nameindexes
Click on Tasmanian Convicts, type in Jacobs name.

Hi Anne,

I had a lady in Tasmania do some research for me, she found the info of my convict family member, Thomas Twining.

What is the name of your family memebr and do you know which state he landed in?

Hi Chas,

Thanks,  Looks like I may have the wrong name instead of Thomas and Ann it's Thos and Ann but I haven't found John to link to Thos and Ann which is a little scary as he is my direct line.  So if I can't link him to them then I have the wrong family.  D'oh who invented Family Research  ;D :D

Hi Blue-Spirit,

That must be another line, no doubt it could be a connection, a branch of the tree or a first or second wife or a cousin/inlaw but my line was already established in Australia by 1855.

I have a Frances b1856 that's the only one I have, would need to find a maiden name, I have 7 Daniels in my tree so far and none married a Frances around that era.

But I do appreciate you bringing up her name maybe if I find a connection I could get the image off you.

Cheers

Hi Chas,

Yes 1775 is the birth date of Thomas but it is only a guess, I am not 100% sure where I got the info from, but the best place I think I would have gotten it would have been the 1841 Cencus records.  I just can't find the info right at this point in time.

I'm also starting to think John (Thomas' son) (who is my direct ancestor) was born in 1795 not 1792 there are so many different dates and ages associated with the family.

I'm sorry I haven't got the correct info for you but any help is greatly apprecited.

Cheers

Hi Andrea,

Thankyou for the info, it sure sounds like the right people but it's not certain.  I had Daniel being born in East Harling but I see Little Baddow is not that far away so it is possible, I may have his birth and marriage place mixed up, and as for Elizabeth's surname, I've found so many variences in family surnames it could be Roofe instead of Rope.  It all depends on the accent and the listening of the writer and his/her intrepretation.  You have noted they married in 1778 and I have their first child being born in Sept 1778.

So I have come to the conclusion these maybe the people 'Im searching for.

Thankyou for another lead to follow.

 ;D Cheers

Hi,

I am looking for any information on Nicholas Crealy c1818b.  He was sentenced on the 15th jan 1847 in Smithfield, Dublin and transported to Tasmania in 1849 on the 'Blenheim' sentenced for 7years.

I have no other information on him prior to the conviction and would love to find out who, where, what he was before being shipped out to Australia.

Thanks in Advance for any info forwarded to me.

Cheers
Lynda
