Hi Ambly, Thank you so much for the information! I was hoping it would be a nice easy link to my family tree but I'll have to do some more digging.
I really appreciate you taking the time to help! :)

Canada Lookup Request / James Gawley, died 1970 Saskatchewan, Canada
« on: Sunday 11 September 22 02:04 BST (UK)  »
Hi all,
Could anyone help find death or marriage records for James Gawley who died in 1970, Saskatchewan Canada please?

He was born in Ireland and his parents died in Ireland. His mother may be Elizabeth who died in Northern Ireland. Possible spouse may be Gertrude Molloy (she is listed as mother of a living person whose father is James Gawley but they aren't connected as a spouse).

My mother recently got her DNA results and found out her father isn't who she thought it was. We have a good idea who the biological father could be and after tracing his family tree there are possible links with DNA matches (surnames Watt, Mercer, Gawley)

The only DNA matches on the paternal side are inactive accounts with very bare trees. The only link I have to connect with our family tree is James Gawley died 1970 Canada who is listed on a few shared matches. I'm trying to see if he connects with the Sarah Jane Gawley, born abt 1860 Tyrone, Ireland and her father James Gawley on our family tree.

Any help or advice would be greatly appreciated as I'm bit lost at the moment!
Thank you :)

Hi Kathy. I'm only just seeing your reply a year later as I've sparked interest in family history again and going back over unsolved mysteries. I've sent you a PM with my email address and would love to hear from you :)

Census and Resource Discussion / Re: 1861 Census - Search by Address?

Have you checked for any other marriages ?  A lot can happen in 10 years  :)

I have checked for other marriages. But I have Hannah Richardson (nee Strudwick) in the 1871 - 1891 census (she died in 1900). As she's a widow in 1871 I'm assuming Thomas did die. There's a death registered in 1865 which I believe could be him. I'll be ordering the GRO certificate to confirm this.

JenB - I'm trying to find Hannah Richardson, born Guildford (or possibly Alford), Surrey 1817. In 1851 she is with husband Thomas Richardson at 6 Brown's Terrace, Camberwell and in 1871 she is a widow at 25 Compton Place, St Pancras. I (along with many others) have tried everything to find her in 1861 without success.

I was hoping by searching for these addresses I might find her with an incorrectly transcribed name  :(

Thank you so much for your reply. Are you able to tell me where you found this information or tell me the surnames of anyone living at 25 Compton Place, St Pancras at the same time?

Thanks again,
Carla

Census and Resource Discussion / 1861 Census - Search by Address?
« on: Monday 06 July 09 08:15 BST (UK)  »
Hello,

Is it possible to search the 1861 by address? I can't find my ancestors in this census so I'd like to find out who is living at 6 Brown's Terrace, Camberwell, where they were living two years earlier.

Many thanks,
Carla
