Thanks Forfarian,
I will search online for Stranraer cemeteries and see what turns up.
If there is anybody on here that knows the area, please let me know.

Sorry for the late reply, thanks Crisane and forfarian.
Just started back onto this tree, my 3xGr grandfather Aulay Mathieson born (McMath) Campbeltown.
I think the 1861c for Grace should be the 1871c as they did not marry until 20th Feb 1863 in Greenock,
So Aulay Mathieson was living with pos son in law Duncan Mcrae,
also I believe that the shop was through his first wife's family of Catherine WEIR, 1825 -1862.
as there is a Alexander and Catherine Weir, po brother and sil living 3 doors down a shoemaker at 59 George Street, Stranraer Wigtownshire on 1871c. Now looking for where are they buried?

Armed Forces / Which WW1 Training camp is this?
« on: Tuesday 29 November 22 23:02 GMT (UK)  »
We have just found a letter from my friends grandfather a Griff Roberts born 1895 Pyle, Bridgend to his older brother Tom, sent from a training camp when he signed up ( as per photo attached) just after Christmas.  Does anybody know where this camp was and what regiment it was. My friend did not know that he had served in WW1, possible did not go abroad as he was a coal miner. In the letter he was replying to Tom's letter that he had received after being home on leave and had a good Christmas dinner at the camp (not as good as mums). We have most of his info except for army records.

Sorry my mistake, yes it is Castle connell, north of Limerick.
St Joseph's Parish records, no other children baptised there.
So it was Johanna Dalton's home address.
Still looking for John's bap.

Ok There is a Patrick O'Connor mar Anne Dalton Castleconnor 7 Aug 1877,
then a John Connors bap 2 Sept 1878 Castleconnor to a Patrick Connors and a Johanna Dalton.
If this was the first child who died, then a second John born later between Bridget 1892 and Johanna 1895.
Also if this Patrick had a father Patrick will make it fit with Oola.

Who lives at Ballybrien since John 1896?

regards
Trevor
