Thank you so much for the information, I have pieced together much of this information but you have filled in a few blanks, going by census records and Arthur’s marriage cert he lists George as his father although Emily is married to David also Arthur’s had sons named Arthur Clayton George Albert Clayton Joseph Ernest alphonso Clayton and my grandfather Philip Clayton there is no David in the children

Thank you for taking time to look that does look like it is possibly his record, and answers the question on regiment will have a look on ancestry too

Hi Ian, my great grandmother was Jeanie mcGeechan her father Philip McGeechan from the holytown/Carfin areas would need to get my folder out to check what info I have on them think I went a few gens back with them

Thanks glad you think its a generation thing i thought it was just my lot that didnt talk about stuff, we found out my grandfather had sister through a neighbour then on search tree discovered another 7 siblings that had all passed and we knew nothing of as not spoke of not even by his living siblings i put it down to them being a strange bunch

Thank you for the link to pics they are great looks like it was someplace, I still am unsure about the reason the would be there, would a child have been sent there if he had downs etc, he was my grandfathers brother and until I came across his death certificate no one ever knew about him he was not spoke of at all in family they are such a strange lot x

Have you tried going to  cambusnethan and speaking to them, I found them very helpful and with one phone call they were able to tell me where grave was and who was in it
