Superb stuff big thanks once more.

My late father worked here at Cundell Eve until I guess around 1970 ish when they moved to Witham.  Machine minder means he ran a letterpress printing machine, the Heidelberg Cylinder, but I think he just did cutting and creasing for box making. When they moved to Witham, he did not want to go, he never liked the company, so joined Boxes Ltd across the road doing the  same job.  Boxes Ltd did the first Airfix Saturn 5 Rocket box and Velos staples boxes. Also I believe in the 1950s, made the first Lesney Matchbox toy cars boxes as they were nearby.

The Roland favorit was a type of printing machine as was Mann Roland.  (Can be seen on Youtube.)

Boxes Ltd shut Dace Rd and moved to Blackburn circa 1986 ish and he was redundant aged 57.
As an aside, if you look up Tina Charles, singer of a hit called I love to Love, her father was a salesman at Boxes in the 70s. She was on The Two Ronnies and we had to sit and watch it as kids.

SOGAT was the union at Boxes, same one as the 1985 Wapping Print dispute. They looked after there own including not paying to apply for a job, so also presume that is why the advert is in the national press. Don't think my ol dad ever filled in a CV in his life lol.   Over Time on the papers in Fleet St back in the day meant your name could be Micky Mouse amongst others.  Jobs for the boys was the print unions.

As another aside, I now live in Lincolnshire and have a new neighbor who designs cartons, who once worked for Boxes Ltd in Watford. Small world sometimes.

Once again many thanks for your help. Much appreciated.   Is it possible for me to see both adverts or is that a copyright issue?

Brilliant and I thank you very much.
I am also looking for a company called Boxes Ltd in Dace Road. Shall I re-post the question?

Looking for a Company called Cundell Eve who I think based in Dace Road  on Fish Island. May even be Smeed Road perhaps.  I do know they moved to Witham circa 1970 and were known as Cundell Cartons or Packaging thereafter.

Dave Road is on the border of Hackney Wick between Hackney and Poplar

Was Kellys even available in the 1960s?

I am looking for the exact location or address of Boxes Limited in Dace Road Hackney Wick and Cundalls Cartons in Smeed Road or Dace Road. Both in the 1960s.  Hope I am in the right forum?

Thank you to all  I shall keep the Passport and contact in case anyone related picks up on this via google  Would be nice to hand it back to the family but understand they might not want it the amount of stuff flung away in house clearances.

Probate for Archibald James Sayers of 90a Trumpington Road , Forest Gate , died 7 Oct 1989,
probate Ipswich 23 Jan , not exceeding £100,000.

That is the place and explains why Caroline's PP was in there all those years.  Many Thanks

The marriage I gave you was for the parents of Archibald who was the executor of her estate.

This looks like her in 1881 with her parents and siblings, one of whom is an Edward -presumably Archibalds father.

Other census are available on familysearch

Thank you  Can you not give out census details on here like in the past?   Works out pricey for a small non family interest in it all.
