Many thanks for checking the burial details and many thanks for the quick work. I would appreciate a copy of the PR page. Yes, looks like an Ancestry muddle. My Essex subscription is long expired and I live in NZ. Thanks.

Please can anyone check burial details for Henry. From Parish Records search yrs ago, I have his details as above but Ancestry listing shows him as Henry Bunn (Henry Carter), Female, buried 5.2.1704 St Andrews Hatfield Peverel, Father John Carter, Mother Elizabeth Carter !. This Henry is an ancestor & I had him married to Elizabeth ?, father of 7 children and probably born around 1660 whereabouts unknown. Thanks to anyone who has access to online Essex Parish Records.

Down / Re: 1891 — 1991 Magheralin Church - Link

Thank you for that. Firstly, I should have checked and shown the 1720 Churchwarden's name as Thomas Scandreth (another variation  of the Scandrett name) as it is in Mrs Cousins book.

The 1742 Will is probably Thomas Jr, bapt in 1699 and buried at Crumlin in 1742. The 1720 Thomas is most likely his Father who was buried in 1734 at Crumlin. The dates and events are Parish Record based but which Thomas is which is more problematical

As an aside, I havent yet found the Scandretts using Strawbridge but the early Irish families
seemed to use, or be quoted as being named Scandridge/Scanrige/Scandret/Scanderet as well.

The curiosity is that the Parish Minute Book that I read at Proni, didnt show any Thomas XXXXX at all as a Churchwarden in 1720.

Thanks, Allen

Please, can anyone help. Thomas Scandrett/Scandridge is mentioned in one of the Sections of this fine book, as a Churchwarden in 1720 but he is not mentioned in the Parish Records/Vestry Minutes of that year. There is a Thomas Strawbridge mentioned in the book as a Churchwarden but in 1722. Please can anyone add any further info on these 2 Gents or their family names in/near Magheralin in the late 1600's/early 1700's. I think that this Thomas Scandrett may be the Father of Thomas, baptised at Magheralin in 1699. This Thomas (1699) is the earliest ancestor of my Wife's family line that I have traced back to. Thanks, Allen.

Denbighshire Lookup Requests / Re: Doctor in Wrexham
« on: Tuesday 01 October 13 00:31 BST (UK)  »
Hi Elaine,

Thank you for all that info re WH. Firstly, I had recorded Henry marrying Mary Sowell 2 Oct 1804 but hadnt connected WH, Henry, & John as their children, thanks. I have also noted Mary bapt 1812 & Amelia bapt 1809, both in Abberton - are these likely to be part of that family ?.

Sorry, I havent found the Wrexham marriage but, because I found WH to be an interesting Bunn, I noted everything I found that might have related to him. It seemed likely that he first married Georgana, born 1813, about 1830 (probably around Portsea) & had 2 children, Joseph 1831 & William 1835 both Portsea. Then I think he married Emma Williamson born 1825 Southampton & had 2 children born in Ireland & 4 later in Wrexham. Sorry, I havent found that marriage. Then I had Emma dying 1862 & WH's 3rd marriage to Mary Williams in 1863 at Wrexham with maybe son William born 1867 Wrexham. This was all gleaned form Census & Parish Records but presumes that this is all the same William H. Does this match with your research ?.

Whilst Peldon isnt far from the Maldon area, I havent yet made a link between these 2 lots of Bunns. Sorry for the late reply but I am shipboard and have just checked the email I use for Roots - hab20@hotmail.com if you would like to make contact for future Bunn questions. Lastly, it may be that Henry who married Mary Barnard in 1768 Langenhoe and the Henry who married Mary Backwith in 1769 Peldon are the same Henry & Father of Henry who married Mary Sowell ?.

Thanks, Allen
