For Sale / Wanted / Events / Beneficiaries & Executors Index
« on: Wednesday 30 November 11 08:24 GMT (UK)  »
At UKfamilyrecords we have launched a new database of people named in Wills. The database currently holds over 11,000 names (some people appear twice in their capacity as Executor and Beneficiary or Testator).

The index includes the names of testators, executors and beneficiaries spanning the years 1700-2011. It is not complete, but we add new records on a weekly basis.

Access to the index is currently free for Rootschat users:
https://ukfamilyrecords.com/genbase/

In the future it will only be available as part of UKfamilyrecords Membership. Our membership entitles members to discounts off their genealogy research. At the moment the discount codes are also freely available, so please use them.

Update 2/12/2011
If you are having difficulty using the index, you will need to register an account first. Just a login name and password is needed.

Norfolk / Adcock in King's Lynn
« on: Saturday 19 June 10 10:49 BST (UK)  »
Hello,
My 4 x gt grandmother was an Elizabeth Adcock, the family appear to have been musicians and actors etc., however I am looking into a link with Kings Lynn and I would be grateful if anyone can help with information about the Adcock who was proprietor/licensee of The Green Dragon, probably circa 1750-1800.

Many thanks,
Michelle

For Sale / Wanted / Events / Beneficiaries Index
« on: Sunday 11 January 09 14:20 GMT (UK)  »
The Beneficiaries and Executors Index is a private index compiled by Ukfamilyrecords.com. It is not a complete index, but part of an ongoing project.

What is it?
It is an Index that lists the Beneficiaries and Executors named in the Wills of individuals who have died during the past 110 years. It has been compiled from Probate Records, that is Wills that have required a Grant of Probate. The testator (the individual who left the Will) may have named Beneficiaries and Executors who are entitled to property, money or valuables from their Estate, the Index lists these Beneficiaries and Executors.

Coverage
The index covers Beneficiaries and Executors named in Wills that have been granted probate in England and Wales. The earliest entry in the Index dates from 1897 and the latest is 2008.

Confidentiality
We treat any enquiry or application to search the Index with complete confidentiality. By the same token the information we release from the Index is kept to the very minimum to protect the privacy of living individuals.

Searching the Index
You can ask us to search for either Beneficiaries, Executors or both.
You can ask us to search for up to three individuals persons, for example yourself and your mother and father etc.; or for genealogical purposes three people from your family tree.

You will find the index at:
http://ukfamilyrecords.com/index.php?cPath=4_49

Update: 6th February 2009
The Beneficiaries Index has been updated. The earliest entry is now 1704 and the latest 2008.

For Sale / Wanted / Events / Wanted: London/Home Counties Researchers
« on: Friday 18 January 08 11:11 GMT (UK)  »
Further to our previous post which received an excellent response, we are still looking for one or two London (or home counties) based researchers to join our team at ukfamilyrecords.com.

Ukfamilyrecords.com was established in 1998 and has been providing a high quality research service for England and Wales ever since. We are currently looking to expand our network of agents around the United Kingdom and are looking for record agents/researchers in all regions, but particularly in London.

London based researchers should be able to commit to large projects or several generation family trees when necessary, they will need to show extremely high professionalism, thorough research techniques and a high degree of accuracy. They will need to be able to produce good quality reports detailing results and research methods and will be expected to:
1. Advise if they can undertake the work
2. Advise of a timeframe
3. Inform us if they will exceed the timeframe
4. Submit a detailed report at the completion of each piece of work
5. Submit an invoice at the end of each project

Payment for large projects may be up to £200 for each project depending upon what is required.

Applicants should be aware that work is occasional and they will need another income. We would want to meet all potential candidates and they will need to bring with them evidence of working methods and report skills.

Successful applicants will be able to join the ukfamilyrecords research community and benefit from being a member by networking with other researchers.

If you are interested in working for a growing family history research service and are a diligent, accurate and highly committed researcher please pm us for more information about wage, expenses coverage and how to apply.

Sincerely,
Ukfamilyrecords.com

For Sale / Wanted / Events / Wanted: Researchers in England, Ireland, Scotland & Wales
« on: Saturday 15 September 07 11:50 BST (UK)  »
Ukfamilyrecords.com was established in 1998 and has been providing a high quality research service for England and Wales ever since. We are currently looking to expand our network of agents around the United Kingdom and are looking for record agents/researchers in Ireland, Wales (all regions) and Scotland (not Edinburgh).
Agents will be required to deliver a high level of specialised research from their region in a timely manner to our customer base worldwide; they will be required to work on a part-time 'as and when' basis when research is required for their locality. Agents will require other means of employment as work is not guarenteed on a regularly basis.

If you are interested in working for a growing family history research service and are a diligent, accurate and highly committed researcher please pm us for more information about wage, expenses coverage and how to apply.

Sincerely,
Ukfamilyrecords.com

Just modified this post to include England as we do need regional representatives as well as one or two agents in the London area.

Hi everyone,
I am a researcher who visits all the London archives on a regularly basis, and I am off to the London Metropolitan Archives and the Society of Genealogists shortly.
I have an advert on here for the National Archives and I can offer the same deal for this trip as I have done for the NA, that is:

First half hour FREE just pay for your photocopies and postage to you if I find anything -
After the first free half hour only £4.50 for every 15 minutes plus the cost of photocopies and postage.

I hope I can be of assistance to you with your ancestral searches!

Please be aware that if you are after a parish register entry, some London parishes take 45 minutes to search ONE year, so try and be frugal with your search requests!

If you are interested in this offer please send me a personal message with the details, please can you mention in the message that it was this advert you saw.

Hope to hear from you,
Michelle
