Good luck on that then i,m having a nightmare ! Very hard when you only have 2 census years and of course the great great grandparents are probably dead by 1901. Will have to try and find birth certs for the great grandparents now and go from there i suppose but at least i have one parents name to go on for each

Hi all just want to thank you all for your advice on Roscommon registry office. Excellent service faxed my order on the monday and they put it in the post on the thursday. So i now have both my great grandparents marraige certs and the names of all 4 of my great great grandfathers. Very impressed with the service and all for 8 euro.

Perhaps i will try if 3 of you seem to think its ok and you have had no problems, it certainly would be easier than getting someone to drive me into Bandon and Cork as i,m only going to be there for 4 days and time will be short. Now that Elwyn has given me the index info should be no prob. I do remember sending my poor uncle into Cork city on the bus to get one of the certs a while ago now and they told him they didnt have it it was too early !
Thanks for all your help, i can really see me moving on a bit now with this, stupid thing is i have hundreds of relations in Cork but can i get anyone to do anything no !!

Hi yeh dont really want to do that you shouldnt really send your card details through e.mail or post it really is'nt safe.Hopefully they will get a safer system set up soon. It seems quite hard to get hold of certs in Ireland, here in England it is so simple and quick you do it all online and you get the certs in a few days

Cork / Irish marraige certs
« on: Saturday 20 August 11 16:22 BST (UK)  »
Hi everyone
Was hoping someone could give me a clue on how to get certs for both my great granparents marriages. I have actually got details of both marriages from each church but he ho no fathers name's typical !
one was Bartholomew Buckley to Kate Leary 29th Feb 1876 in parish church in Kilmurry the other Denis Holland to Kate Sheehan 29th Feb 1879 ( think the 29th is wrong on this one but that's what the priest gave me ) at Parish church in Ovens.
I,ve looked at ordering certs at the GRO in Roscommon but there isn't a secure payment option and its too far from Cork to drive ( i will be in Cork in 4 weeks )
Is it possible to get copy's at the registration office in Cork city if i just showed up there does anyone know ? Would they have records for that far back ?
