Nottinghamshire / Re: REDHILL CEMETERY, Arnold, Nottingham
« on: Monday 23 February 15 09:31 GMT (UK)  »
I went to Carlton and Redhill a couple of weeks ago (didn't bother with Gedling). Despite what the council website says there is no freely available map of either cemetery. It was a week day and there happened to be council staff working at each one who helped me with their own working maps, and I have to say Redhill was a lot simpler to work out than Carlton. Also, if you go to Wilford Hill, go in the office and ask for what you are looking for and the ladies on the desk will be only too happy to help as they have record books there going back years.

I would like to add when i went to Redhill looking for a grave the staff at. The gate were most helpful ,the lady actualy walked with me to the grave ,i would never have found it by myself .

I have gt grandparents that died there. In 1921 and 1929 if you put the address in google search , what comes up is  Nottingham City Hospital  ,im almost sure they were not  in the workhouse there.
