Hi,
Your great grandfather was my Mum's uncle Charlie. His brother, George was my grandfather. There are quite a lot of McLoughlins in the Hull area researching the family tree, have you been in touch with any ?

Hi,

I've just seen your post ( I realise it was a long time ago ) and my great uncle and his wife had pubs in Hull from the 1940's. Their names were Harold and Lily McLoughlin, my Mum said that one of their pubs was on Spring Bank, do their names ring a bell ?

Regards,
Janine

Occupation Interests / Jewellers
« on: Monday 28 February 11 15:52 GMT (UK)  »
I have discovered an ancestor was a jeweller in Hull and in 1880 left £600 to a daughter who gave her occupation as jeweller also , in the 1881 census. Does anyone know if there would be any info on them or their business and if so where I could find it ?
Thanks .

The Common Room / Accidental death
« on: Saturday 04 September 10 14:13 BST (UK)  »
Hello again,

I asked a question on here a few minutes ago and it was answered so quickly I thought I'd be cheeky and ask another !!

My uncle died in 1911 aged 6, the result of an accident . Some deals accidentally fell on him and he was crushed. I've looked through old newspapers but can find no record of it. Does anyone know if there would be any records in the National Archives ?
Also, would I be able to get any info from the coroner's office ?

Any help appreciated, thanks.

I have received a death certificate today and the cause of death was cenectus. The certificate was printed , so I'm reading it correctly, and  the year was 1908. Can anyone please throw some light on this ?
Many thanks.

Hi Tu,
thanks for your help. I'm not sure where my great grandfather was born but some of the children were born in Hull. I think I'll have to visit the R.C. church where I think they were baptised and see what I can find. It's frustrating when you hit a brick wall , but I'm getting used to it.
I really appreciate you taking the time to look for me, thanks.
Cute pooch by the way.

Janine
