Berkshire Lookup Requests / Re: Ann Hunsdon Marriage
« on: Thursday 14 July 22 17:39 BST (UK)  »
Hi Kirst
I have a little bit of info but only put her parents in my tree.  We have a little book/pamphlet written by an historian of Sparsholt and it contains a lot of history on the Hunsdens and I think a family tree or as much as was known.
There are a lot of Thomas Hunsdens though many of them knighted.

PM me and I'll send you what I have on the Thomas in my tree and I'll look up the book and see what's in it?
In my tree the daughter of Ann Hunsdon married a William Whitehorn.
Regards Tom

HI David
That would be very interesting as we have a very long standing interest in Maj. Basil Alves and have never been able to tie him into the family despite have his royal commission paper which someone has written a note on, probably in the early 20th century.

No, don't get there very often as it's such a long way.  I'll just wait until I get there again at some point.
Thanks anyway

Can anyone help with the Monument Inscriptions for St Bartholomew's, Lower Basildon please?
Most f the tombstones are now buried in undergrowth or worn away and I'm hoping the MI's include any TAME's?
Thanks you

Hi Monica
No not directly, I believe he's the uncle one of my grandmothers, I'm hoping to tie down which of his siblings married into my family who are all from Berkshire apart from my great grandmothers family who were Norfolk farmers.  One branch of which came from Ayrshire.  It's proving very hard to find thoiugh.

Thank you both very much.  Where can I find these scottish wills?  Basil Alves Jnr died in 1808 probably from wounds I think.  My relation (frustatingly unknown) wrote 'grandmothers uncle' on his commision.  I think maybe a will is the maybe the best place to look for relations.
This is the first time I've tried searching Scottish records, only 1 small branch of the family came from there and I've never got more than a birth place on an english cencus.

Regards
Tom
