Thank you so much!  I was positive I'd tried all the various possible alternative names, but I must have missed that one!

Norfolk / Whomes - King's Lynn - 1840's

I have am having a real battle trying to locate a birth certificate and wondered whether anyone could give some advice.

My g.g.g grandmother was Susanna(h) Maria Whomes who I've located in the 1851 Census aged 5.  Her marriage certificate has the name Susanna Maria Thomas on it, but this appears to be a clerical error.

However, I can find no record of her existence in the birth records.  Is this a normal event for the area?

Is it possible for someone to look up the Grimble family from Norwich in the 1851 census?

The people I currently have are:

Josiah Grimble - probably aged around 30-40
Mary Ann Grimble - similar age
Mary Ann Grimble - aged around 8

Sorry that's all the information that I have at the moment.  Any help you can give would be appreciated.

Yorkshire (North Riding) Lookup Requests / 1861 North Riding - Eryholme
« on: Saturday 22 January 05 08:43 GMT (UK)  »
I am looking for a family called Wood in the Eryholme census for 1861.  Sorry I have no street index, however in 1822 there was a population for the village of only 177, so hopefully it won't be too bad, if there is no name index!

The family would include at least:

Thomas Wood - approximately 40 years of age
Elizabeth - around 38-39
Mary - aged around 4

Any other information regarding this would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks
Graeme

I'm looking for a Barber family in either Bethnal Green or Stepney.

At the time of the ancestors birth in 1840 they were living in Butler Street, Bethnal Green.

By his marriage on Christmas Day 1861 he was living in Henry Street which I believe may be in Stepney.

Am looking for Edward born 1840 and any relatives with him!
