Hi I have Sarah Rance in my family who married Samuel Hanchant/Hanchett in 1833 in Stevenage.  She was the daughter of William and Elizabeth nee Piggott.  So she would be a sister to your Jane 'Our Kid'
We have a number of Piggott's in the Hanchant/chett family including a couple who came out here to Australia.

Thank you.  That is truly amazing but yes I would say that is her as I have come across the name Mullane previously as a mother.

I can't read it very well.  I can see the Robert Barrett and Mary Mullane but I'm not sure what the rest of the sentence says.

Now though I need to try and link Robert Barrett to John Barrett (father of Edward born 1852) or possibly John's father Edward.

Thank you!

There was a headstone but as the grave has been reused it was removed by another relative a few years ago.  The stone had the names of Edmund, Julia and Mary Ann on it but no further information to that which I already have.

Cork / Julia Barrett Cork c 1840

My 2 x Great Grandmother Julia Dooly nee Barrett was born in Cork c. 1840.  I cannot find when she came to South Australia but she married Edmund Dooly in South Australia in October 1857.  She lists her father as Robert.  (Edmund came to Australia from Cork in June 1857).

My Great Grandmother was Mary Anne Barrett Dooly (according to her marriage certificate).  I can find no birth record for her but there is a family record that says she was born on 27 October 1865. On her marriage certificate she lists Edmund Dooly as her father.

Edmund and Julia had a daughter Mary Ann who died 31 March 1866.  She is buried with her parents and from age would have been born circa Jan. 1865 (9 months before my great Grandmother).

I only have one photograph of my Mary Anne as an older lady probably mid 70's.  It is not a great photograph but she looks to be of darker hued skin.  My great grandfather (her husband) was Aboriginal and at various times the Government records on the family describe Mary Anne as a 'full blood' or 'half-caste'.  This led me to believe that perhaps she had been fostered/adopted by the Dooly family after the death of their daughter Mary Ann.

However, I have recently had DNA done and this clearly links me to the Barrett family which means Mary Ann was the daughter of Julia Dooly Barrett.  I have been in contact with family and they have a Julia Collins B. 1854 who married Edward Barrett in Cork.  There are similar names among the children but clearly it is not the same Julia.

There must be another Julia who was born Barrett but we have yet to find her.

Thank you.

World War One / Frank Hanchett - World War 1 - Belgium
« on: Saturday 02 May 20 14:21 BST (UK)  »
Hello

I have a couple of questions:

I am trying to find a death certificate for Frank Hanchett (Lance Corporal) who was killed in Belgium on May 2nd 2015.  There is no known grave for him and he is commemorated on the Menin Gate.

I have looked on the GRO to order a death certificate but I can't find one so wondering where I go.

Also, is there anywhere on line that would have details for him.  I think that he lied about his age and place of birth and that he was actually two years younger and Thomas Frank son of Philip and Mary.

On the 105th Anniversary of his death (today) I'd love to be able to put the pieces together.

Thank you yes.

Would it by chance have who Elizabeth's father was?
