Hi Selina ,  It seems that Paul who posted originally about the Desforges family has not been on this site since  2012.   He may not see your reply.

Kathryn,  It's been a while since I have been on here.

I can't believe you are still searching for those illusive ancestors of yours!

I did find the baptism entry for James - baptised  16 June 1855 to James Browne and Ellen Swiney, sponsors Jerh. (Jeremiah) Mahony and Kate Horgan.  illegitimate at the side .

https://registers.nli.ie//registers/vtls000634441#page/71/mode/1up ( Kilmurray Parish ).

I know the question has been answered which is great.

Unfortunately LORC has not been on this site since  2018.   I haven't had any contact since then.

Cork / Re: Possible burial Cork
« on: Monday 22 May 23 15:25 BST (UK)  »
Hi ,

I had a look at some of the burials in Cork for various cemeteries which are online at the
www.corkarchives.ie   and I did find a burial for Maud.

This is the entry however it is not very clear. it states she is a widow on the burial entry.  Difficult to read what her occupation is listed as.

https://publications.corkarchives.ie/view/173026802/172/#zoom=true    If you have difficulty reading this  go into website www.corkarchives.ie  then click on online collections then cemeteries then St. Finbarrs cemetery for years 1908-1920 and it's page  172.  I did have to scroll from Dec 21 when she died up to January but finally found her.

Hope this helps

Mary

She is buried at St. Finbarr's cemetery, Glasheen Road, Cork in Section G North Row 7 Grave 15.   There might not be any headstone..

This is a link to Patient records at CUH it might be possible to contact the HSE re St. Stephen's hospital records.     It states you can apply for a deceased patient's records under the "Freedom of Information Act".    How long they have kept records from the  60s I don't know.  A lot of site say they are only retained up to  10 years after someone dies with some exceptions for younger people.

https://cuh.hse.ie/patients-visitors/freedom-of-information/

On other sites it states that Patient records are held for a maximum of 10 years.

Did you phone St. Stephen's hospital.  It is still operating as a hospital.

Hope this helps.

Garngad Thank you so much for this.   It is the correct family and I am so thrilled.

I had hit a brick wall with Joseph Keane who married Martha Fitzgibbon ( actually  in Cork,Ireland in the 26  July 1903.   I am totally stuck on James and his birth in Dublin.  On his marriage cert he said his father was James a jeweller in Dublin but I can't find any birth of a Joseph Keane with a father a jeweller.  It is possible when Joseph was born his father had another occupation may be pawnbroker.

I have almost exhausted all avenues at this stage trying to find Joseph's father hoping we will get a close dna match who might have the information.

Your link is such a great help I will follow up on it.

Thank you again.

 Hi again Ballydw,

I don't know if you have cracked this case yet but when I was driving past a sign for Carraig na bFhear yesterday  I suddenly thought of another cemetery I visited in Glanmire and that was
Templeuisce.  It is located in Upper Glanmire up beyond Sarsfield Court.

I checked all of my CDs and USBs and while I have written Templeuisce down on my index I just could not find it in any location.

At least it is another choice of cemetery to keep in mind.
