Northowram is a fair way from elland. Sheperds House in warley is a listed building from memory and you can find out details on the calderdale mbc website regarding listed buildings.far shepherd farmhouse is I think in luddenden on the top of the hills. One of the houses was up for sale in the Halifax courier lately so may be some information there. The wards in the area were different in those days and warley ward included other addresses.

I have a Robert laird and Margaret Cowan marriage in 1726. Don't know robert's dob but was about 1700 and magaret Cowan was born on 20th Jan 1704 in larbert. Margaret's father was Robert and her mother was a jean gib.jean was born about1680 in larbert and Robert on1677 in Falkirk.they married in 1698 and Robert died on 14 march 1751 if that is the same family.?

I have a Barbara brown mother of alexander laird of larbert 1755 who married Elizabeth Russell in 1780 and they had john laird on 6th April 1788 who married Jane Gardner in 1808 and they had alexander laird who married margeret Wilson in 1831.alexander was from plean and Margaret from campsie. I am also related to harrower family and my cousin is a Wilson.

anyone know if the records for the above exist say from world war one, and why you would have gone there.?does it mean you were a soldier or was it given as a job instead of going to war as don't know what the labour corps did at this time.

does anyone know where the records for this organisation may be found if it still exists, say for around the first world war time.? And am i correct in thinking it had something to do with the royal anti deluvian order of buffaloes.?

there is some writing on the medal itself. can't get close enough up on zoom to determine what is says but should help you if you look at the writing.

can only get a bit of this but looks like has letters on above where the string crosses and one of the letters looks like a P or an R if that helps.?
