Hi there
I live in Clonaslee and I know the townland of Ballynahimmy.
The house that Edward,Margaret and family lived in is still there,it has not been lived in in years.
My aunt can recall Thomas,Joseph and Bridget all living in that house, all were un-married.
James Conroy married and lived elsewhere in Clonaslee,he had 3 children.
His son Sean is living here, married with children.
He would be your only Conroy relative in Clonaslee today.
Hope this helps.

Hi Marie
Coolagh and Ballinahimmy are both townlands in Clonaslee Parish, a little west of Clonaslee village.
There is today a family of Dalys still living in Coolagh, they would probably be your cousins.

In Griffiths Valuation of Ireland,1850, there is a Luke Daly living in Killinaparson, another townland, very close to Coolagh.
In the 1841 census,175 people lived in Killinaparson.By 1851 following the Famine, there were only 31
people there, and today this townland has no population, a place that never recovered from the Famine.
hope this helps.

Laois (Queens) / Dunnes of Brittas,Clonaslee,Co Laois,Ireland

Hi
I am researching a History of the Dunne Family, from Brittas House,Clonaslee,Co Laois (Queens County).
The Dunnes were the Landlords of Clonaslee and 5 generations of them lived in Brittas House.
Today that Dunne Family has died out and Brittas House suffered a fire in the 50's.
If anyone has any information on this family i would be very interested.
Thanks.

Hi
My name is Jim Kennedy, we are related.
I just spoke to my aunt, she recalls your grandfathers brother, Michael Kennedy.
He lived in the family home at Cloonaghmore, Clonaslee.
You have cousins living nearby, although the old Kennedy family home is gone.
My aunt recalls a visit from some people from Liverpool, she thinks they were Daniels children
but they may have been your father or mother.
Your grandfather John appears in the 1911 census, aged 9.
his father John, was known in family circles as 'Big John',
and had a large flowing beard.

Hope you get this.
