Hi
I've got information on a David Rowe in Withybrook but he wasn't born until 1854 & married a Sarah Anne Morsen sometime around 1880. I guess that the David Rowe you are looking for is an older relation to my great-great grandad. If you've got a better picture of the Rowes in Withybrook in the mid-1800s I would love to hear from you.
Cheers
Nick Rowe
Ah - hang on, a quick bit of research later & I think we've got David Rowe (an agricultural labourer who seemed to change the spelling of Rowe and also his DoB from one census to the next), born in Hopsford just west of Withybrook sometime in 1803-1813, prob. 1806-ish, who married Jane from "Balson" (probably Barlestone, near Earl Shilton, Leics.) and had several children, the penultimate being my David Rowe around 1854. The others seem to be Joseph (1838), Ann (1841), Eliza (1843), Timothy (1844), Lucy (1847), Matilda (1851) and Mary (1856) - all years approximate. So the David Rowe mentioned originally is my g-g-g-grandad. I don't suppose anyone knows anything about his roots?
