Fermanagh / Re: McManus Dolan McKiernan Carraclare Fermanagh

Really interesting - thanks. Annie was baptised in 1870 so 74 in 1933 is a bit of a stretch. Also I don't have a Patrick as a son for Annie and Philip and their youngest in my records - son Philip - was baptised in 1918 when Annie would have been 48 so the odds on another child while not impossible must be slim. The Bridget McKiernan does raise an interesting question mark - Annies sister Bridget was married to an O'Reilly but she had 2 cousins/nieces named Bridget. The search goes on. Really appreciate the help. Liam

Thanks for that. The 1911 census is the right family before Anne married Pat Dolan in Oct 1911. I have found 3 baptisms for McManus children of this 3rd marriage - John, Bridget and Philip. I wonder about them and also where their parents died and were buried. Liam

Cavan / Re: Edward McKernan, Aughnakelly, Swanlinbar
« on: Friday 12 February 16 21:01 GMT (UK)  »
There were 2 distinct McKiernan families in Aughnakelly - one as referenced by Bellajune20 and 3 brothers Robert Edward and John originating most likely from the L Rynne estate of Lord Leitrim and arriving in Cavan after the Great Famine. The 2nd family known as the Ruck McKiernans were in Aughnakelly for several generations before the arrival of the other family. The Ruck McKiernans include a John McK married to Ann 'Nanny' Gilbride who had baptisms of at least three children recorded in the Kinawley parish records - Edward (1843), James (1845) and Honor (1850). James married twice  first w Mary Molanophy and later with Mary Maguire and his children were in the 1901 census in Aughnakelly and he was in the adjacent townland with his 2nd wife and mother-in-law. Hope this helps. Liam

Sinann, thanks for that, I have all of that and much more too. Hoping to find people with links to the extended Kinirons family and the other families from around N Tipp/Offaly they married into, mostly in the 1800s - Quinlisk, Tierney, Maher, Wallon, Ryan, Butler, Hooley etc. Also one branch are buried in St Cronans in Roscrea while another branch died in Shinrone/Dunkerrin but I have not found their graves yet. I have a John Quinlisk b about 1846 married Margaret Kinirons (1858-1912) and living in Shinrone - eleven children in the 1901 census. I wonder if they are related to your Hugh Quinlisk? There are several Quinlisk graves at Kilcomin graveyard with details available online. Liam
