Tipperary / John Hartnett & Frances (Fanny) Legg-Clonmel
« on: Thursday 23 December 04 01:15 GMT (UK)  »
I am looking for any information regarding a John Hartnett, who married Frances (Fanny) Legg in Clonmel, Tipperary.  Two of their sons, Richard (24) and William (19) sailed to Melbourne, Australia, in 1841, on the ship Columbine.  John followed four years later in 1845, when he was 18 years old, on the ship Herald. Their parents had both died before Richard and William sailed to Australia in 1841.
John Hartnett (junior) married Jane Lamey, (born in 1836) on 22 March 1856 in Moree, NSW, Australia and they had (I think) 14 children born at Warialda, NSW between 1858 and 1879.
I am interested to learn any family history details, in particular, about John Hartnett (senior) & Frances (Fanny) Legg, and their parents.
Do any of these names have a connection with your Hartnett family tree?

Tipperary / John Shortt & Mary Ann Fitzgerald-early 1800s
« on: Thursday 23 December 04 01:08 GMT (UK)  »
I am looking for any information regarding a John Shortt and Mary Ann Fitzgerald,  around the early 1800s, both from Ireland, possibly Tipperary or Waterford. They had a son born in County Tipperary in 1830 or 1831, also named John Shortt.
On 3 Sep 1862, John Shortt (junior) married Harriet Burriss at Saint Mary, Edge Hill, Lancashire, England and they immigrated to New Zealand on the ship Belgravia, arriving in Auckland on 10 May 1865.
Do any of these names have a connection with your Shortt family tree?
