Thanks very much for the information on how to send a personal email so that it isn't on show to the general public.

Hi Jill,
Lovely to hear from you. I live in Victoria Australia and have a little info on John and Jessie, but would very much like to know more and it sounds like you have quite a lot of info. John and Jessie are my great-great-grandparents and just recently I obtained a photo of their headstone (which is actually a cross), and their daughter Christina is also on it.
I would love to correspond with you and I agree with you about posting an email address in such a public place and I will therefore place it in your personal section.

Regards,
Gwen  :)

Hi Mary,

Thanks for your information unfortunately the Alexander McIntosh and Jane McKenzie you have are not the ones I am interested in - from what I can find out their children were Grace Grant McIntosh born 1825, John Grant McIntosh born 1829 and Alexander McIntosh born approx. 1832.
Regards,

Gwen

Thanks Alex for the information - I know that John and Jessie lived in the Bungaree region so the details from John's death look like they are the ones I am looking for.
Thanks again.

I have now found that Jessie's parents were John Rose and Margaret McKay. I am however still looking for details on John's parents - if anyone can help I would be very grateful.

Essex Completed Lookup Requests / Re: Newcombe Family
« on: Thursday 13 January 05 23:28 GMT (UK)  »
Hi Bryant.

Thanks for your message. Unfortunately I do not have the marriage certificate for Charlotte Newcombe and Thomas Palmer. I found the details of their marriage in an old Australian newspaper article about Thomas and then a friend found details of Charlotte's death in the Victorian Death Register which showed her parents as John Newcombe and Arabella - so that is why I believe that Charlotte's mother was named Arabella.
Both Thomas and Charlotte emigrated to Australia shortly after their marriage and their children Elizabeth Ellen Parker Palmer, James Thomas Palmer, Thomas William Palmer (my grandfather), Charles Palmer, Charlotte Sarah Palmer, Fanny May Palmer and Ada Muriel Palmer were all born in Australia.
Thomas William Palmer's parents were James Palmer and Elizabeth Parker.
Hope this explains everything to you.

Regards,

Gwen

Thanks Frances and Bryant for your messages. Yes Frances I should have used the Devonshire Board - I mistakely used Essex.
I do not know Bryant whether the 1851 and 1871 Census information you have supplied is the correct family, but I will look into them.
Thanks again to you both.

Regards,

Gwen
