 :D hello fionao,

you certainly gave me a shock as i havent been on here for a long time.thank you for your reply.
my buckleys spred about cheshire and yorkshire and more.

not realy sure what you are looking for , so all i can do is try and get it right .

John buckley born 1830ish nantwich cheshire married hannah charleworth born 1832ish.
had abt 6 children one of which passed as a baby.
john was a farmer and lived in Aston Lane.nantwich.
many of the children went their seperate ways but my granpa john (son)buckley born 1865 continued to live in the farm after his parents had passed. he was living there with his sisters. cant find him after 1899 cen.
I can give yoiu more details but i would have to go to GenesReunited for that, but i dont mind.unless you are also a member of that?
i had a grt grt grt? granpa william buckley who lived at Stoke Hall farm with his wife and kids. i have his will. makes interesting reading hahha.
i believe his father was William/john buckley born abt 1730ish but havent brought any parish records on him as yet.
if you would like more info pls just ask.. Im so desperate to find some of my buckley's as im finally finding out where i am from and who my family were in the past. i didnt grow up with my family so all info i have has come from many years of searching and also people's help.
so thank you once again.

hi Suz,,

this is the info i had which makes me think it could be granpa.its from shipspassenger lists someone found for me
Passenger lists leaving UK 1890-1960
Name: Mr J BUCKLEY
Date of departure: 27 January 1906
Port of departure: Southampton
Destination port: Durban (Port Natal)
Destination country: South Africa
Date of Birth:
Age:
Marital Status: Single
Sex: Male
Occupation:
Notes:
Passenger recorded on: Page 3 of 5
Ship: AVONDALE CASTLE
Official Number: 108160
Master's name: J W Hague
Steamship Line: Donald Currie & Company
Where bound: South Africa
Square feet: 5983
Registered tonnage: 3542
Passengers on voyage: 163
but this hasnt be proven either,, South african archives are none to clever and very unhelpfull from my experience.this may or may not be my granpa, jus a coincidence the name age and where he was headed.. but it could be couldnt it? especially the time scale fits from when dad was born durban 1910.dec.
oh my my head is achi9ng once again hehehe

firstly thanks to all of you who have answered my query,
im feeling more confused and down now. i thought great finally i found granma. as far as i know the only children she had were all born in natal durban south africa.

unless she did in fact have children before she left.????
i do know that  the buckley's in my family used different names like john buckley born 1762? went also by the name as william, gosh they luved to make things complecated hahahah

i wonder why john left the farm  in one cen it gives them all as married which ws an error.
i did find a shipps record of a john buckley leaving southampton to natal durban. on the avondale castle ship. but seems he was alone unless lucy went long before him.?

oh my this is all a big mystery that doesnt seem to be resolved. mmmm i will get the cert but will have to include his mother and fathers name whatif i put the adress too would that help in anyway.
i am waiting for my new card as the lastone one stolen wen we got burgled. so will just wait awhile till then
i do thank you all so much.

Cheshire / I'm a newbie bogged down
« on: Monday 17 May 10 15:36 BST (UK)  »
HELLO EVERYONE,
IM PRETTY NEW TO ROOTS oops
and im wondering if anyone who lives in cheshire nantwich or near there would be able to check a marriage for me,
i didnt gro up with my family so my info is alil confusing, my granpa john buckley born nantwich 1865/6 was last seen in the 1899 cen living with his sisters martha ann ? on the farm in astonlane, after his parents had both passed away, his father was a JOHN BUCKLEY 1830 and mother HANNAH BUCKLEY  nee CHARLESWORTH1830ISH BOTH CHESHIRE.
now i know john eventually went to south africa where my dad ws born in 1910.
i have been given a possible marriage for him .which i thought was abit strange as i thought he married in South Africa natal durban.
but it maynot be the case. his marriage is still a mystery . but i have some info and wondered if anyone would be able to check for me.
the lady name is LUCY ELLEN BAKER ALSO FROM NANTWICH THEY WED 1893 DEC, 8A 524 (not sure what that is)
BUT IF THIS IS GRANMA THEN SHE WENT TO s.a, AS DAD WAS BORN THERE IN 1910.AND HAD SIBLINGS TOO.
i have tried to get dads birth cert abt 2 years ago from the S.A. archives but can you believe they still havent responded even though i wrote 5 letters of complaint as they had already got the cash.and they havent reimberssed us.
they are rubbish, and i cant move forward.so if i am right  and am on the right board can someone please let me know. i ws told to try on here. so thats it realy
thanking you for your time and efforts in advance.
ciao for now jacki(mumamafia)
