They probably did as neighbours were a lot closer in those days and relied on each other more than they do today. It is amazing what we can find out these days.

Do you now if there are any photos/pictures etc around of that area from around the 1890-1920 era? I have never been to Durham/Northumbrland, even though my father came from Durham. We hope to vistit next year sometime after we retire but most of the houses my family lived in don't exist anymore.

My Grt Grandgrandfather was born at 12 Camden St Southwick, 1871census he was 3mths old.

 I don't know if you still read/check this but my family lived at 2 Double Junction Row on the 1911 census.

Henry Dilks and Sarah Ann Milsom, they were my Grt Grandparents.
