thankyou xinia for both of them, you've done a fine job despite the many faults in my original post.

3
Alright hopefully this will work better (fingers crossed) apparently all this time without computer/internet has made me a little rusty(ok maybe alot)  :-[

Ah, well yes it is black and white as seen, the date listed sounds about right to me, I'll sort out the dpi in the morning.
Oh and I meant to say g.g.g grandfather ::)

For dating purposes, could we see the whole thing please, including the corners of the mount? Also please scan in colour. A 300dpi scan is best for restoration.

Cheers,
China

I'm not quite sure about what you mean by the mount, this is the whole front of the photo, and I had thought that it was in 600 dpi.  ???

6
well, that was quick! thank you xinia you really bought out the details that seemed to be fading away, especially the hat.

opps, sorry about that ... I accidently hit post ,instead of attach. Here it is

Hello this is Edwin Bryant , my g.g.g grandfather. I recently found this photo along with many others (although this is the only known photo we have of him) , in an old family briefcase. I would very much apperciate if you could help restore and/or color it.
Also if anyone has an idea of when the picture was taken, I'm all ears

I'm very sorry, I've been having internet/computer problems this month and never got to respond and thank for your contributions.( and all the work that went into them)  I apologize if any of you feel your work was under-appreciated because it most certainly wasn't. You all did amazing work and I thank you all for your hard work, I printed each version out and added them to my photo album.

P.S  sorry again that it took so long.
