According to the Irishroots site the centre in Limerick has closed because of lack of funding

http://www.irishroots.net/limerick/index.htm

Maybe some of the online records for Limerick will help you find some info on your ancestors

Ireland / Re: Durkin-Durkan
« on: Tuesday 17 August 04 21:51 BST (UK)  »
I meant to post this ages ago but forgot, sorry. I had a look through the 1890 surnames of Ireland database it shows the surname Durkan being mainly in the province of Connaught - in particular counties Mayo and Sligo and Ellicot/Elliott mainly in province of Ulster - Fermanagh, Antrim and Donegal, province of Leinster - Dublin and also in Connaught - Mayo, Sligo, Roscommon and Galway

As both names are in Mayo and Sligo these maybe a good place to start.

Leitrim / Re: Donough More, Leitrim

I dont know the area myself but I think the best places to try for information on the area are the county tourist office, library and council, these links will take you directly to the contact information on their websites, they all have a contact email address which you can try:

Leitrim Library
http://www.iol.ie/~libcounc/leitrim.htm broken link

Leitrim Tourism
http://www.leitrimtourism.com/contact.cfm broken link

Leitrim Council
http://www.leitrimcoco.ie/contact_us.htm broken link

I think the Library would be the best place to start if they dont have information on donagh more themselves they should have contact details for someone in the area.

Clare / Re: Searching for Bridgetown County Clare
« on: Tuesday 03 August 04 20:43 BST (UK)  »
Hi janine

You could try the Clare Library website, local libraries can sometimes be the best place to start

http://www.clarelibrary.ie

there is an email address given on the 'Contact Us' link on the website, someone at the library should be able to give you some details for Bridgetown or put you in touch with some locals, also the Genealogy section on the website has a number of records online like directories and census records etc that you can search

Good luck with the search

Leitrim / Re: Donough More, Leitrim
« on: Wednesday 28 July 04 19:35 BST (UK)  »
The townland of Donagh More in Leitrim is in the Barony of Drumahaire and the parish of Cloonclare, these maps might give you an idea as to where about in Leitrim it is

map of the baronies
http://www.leitrim-roscommon.com/MAPS/let_bar.html

map of Cloonclare parish
http://www.leitrim-roscommon.com/MAPS/cloonclare.html

While looking through the Leitrim/Roscommon site I noticed a Hugh Gilmartin on the 1901 Census, not sure if this is your ancestor or not, the townland is Munakill in the parish of Cloonclare, head of the house is Hugh Gilmartin aged 83, widower and a retired farmer no one else is recorded in the house at that time.

Hope this helps
