Cork / Charles Reid or Reed 1856 County Cork
« on: Friday 15 July 16 15:08 BST (UK)  »
I am trying to trace Charles Reid who married Ellen or Helena Cashman in Middleton Cork 1882. They had two children born in Ireland and two born in England and emigrated to England between 1884 and 1889.
England census 1891 and 1911 give his birth as 1856 in Cork and occupation as stud groom.
No luck at all with finding his parents. Can anyone help please?

Armed Forces / RAMC records WW 2
« on: Saturday 24 November 12 14:54 GMT (UK)  »
I am trying to find out about my uncle's WW2 service in the RAMC. His name was Garlick, born 1915 in Canada. He was baptised Francis Paul, known as Paul, but also took the names John and Anthony when he became a Roman Catholic about 1936.
I think he enlisted before the outbreak of war. He was an officer (Captain I think) but not a medic. He definitely served in the Middle East and I think he was in Crete.
Any suggestions for progress gratefully received.
