Cheshire / Trying to find the parents/family of Jane ASTBURY born in Kelsall c.1870

Jane Astbury married Edward Lawson on 22nd July 1889, her age was put as 19 (he was 22), & her father was William Astbury (Labourer). Several attempts at applying for her birth certificate have failed...due the the father's name (as reference point.) I have even tried alternative names for her(eg..Mary-Jane...) but still no luck!
How can I track down her D.O.B & her family?
I'm also having the same problem with Edward (her illiterate husband)...I'm currently awaiting the result of applying for a birth cert in the name of "Edwin" Lawson.....
Any help/advice will be greatly appreciated!
