Hi, I am after as much information as possible about the McBurnie Family who lived in Kirkmaiden, Wigtownshire. Most appear to have moved to Glasgow.
I am also looking for any descendant's.
Robert McBurnie born in Ireland in abt 1825 married Grace McCutcheon Born 1832 from Kirkmaiden in 1856.
They appear on the Census as of 1861in Kirkmaiden. Robert and Grace had 9 children. Thomas 1871, Died young.
Jean McBurnie 1855 to 1925 she died in Inch. Jean was married to a John Gibson in 1879 and had 9 children. Children Elizabeth 1880, Jane 1885, Margaret 1891, Agnes 1899, Thomas 1897, Robert 1893, John 1889, Grace 1887.
William McBurnie 1856 to 1941. Married 1st Margaret Simpson 1886, 2nd Margaret Jane Milhence, 3rd Annes Milligan. William had 4 children with Margaret Simpson, children were Sarah 1881, Robert 1896, Grace 1887. Maggie died in infancy. Iam not sure if William had children with his other 2 wives.
Robert McBurnie 1867 married Henrietta McRitchie 1 child Malcom 1897.
Elizabeth McBurnie 1859 to 1946, married Daniel Rodger. So far I have found 2 children William 1890. John 1888.
James McBurnie 1862, married Annie Kerr Island of Arran 1893, had 3 children Grace 1894, Annie 1895 and Robert 1898
John McBurnie 1863, 1 known illegitimate child born 1895.
Samuel 1875 married Jane child Catherine 1899, and Grace McCucheon McBurnie 1901.
Alexander McBurnie 1869, married Isabella McIntyre child Elizabeth.
