Hi Looking for information on Matthew Findlay born 31 Jul 1880 in Ayrshire Scotland the son of Francis Findlay and Susan Millar, he emigrated to Canada in 1906. On the 1911 Census was lodging with Andrew and Mary Leggate who are also family members. He wrote to his sister Margaret Findlay dated Oct 9 1950 from 719-2nd St. East Calgary, Albert, Canada, to say he had "Just come out of the hospital, but not as bad as last time, had cut a lot of stuff out of my bladder"  I was told he had cancer, Would like to know what happened to him.  Jonty

Hi, I'm looking for information on a John Barr, [birth, death, marriage, parents cannot find, he had a son Alexander studied medicine at the Anderson's University, Glasgow, and the University of Glasgow from 1832-1836, Think he was born in Glasgow roundabout the 1810s. His father, John Barr, worked for James Finlay and Co.
They also hold the Will of a Alexander Barr of Fletching Sussex, as his father was a beneficiary, I have a copy of the Will, he was a Surgeon to the late 22nd L.T. Draggons who died Nov 15th 1827 aged 79yrs which gives his date of birth around 1748. The sole Trustee of his Will was his nephew John Barr. Surgeon to the Forces [1784-1832]  [think he was the son of the said John Barr but not sure, he married his cousin Margaret Barr, I have a copy of her Will, the dau of Allan Barr a Silk Manufacturer in Edinburgh, he died 1821 in Edinburgh. Trustees were John Barr, Merchant in Glasgow and a Walter Barr, I have a feeling that this Walter Barr was not a brother, but in some way was related

Three brothers;- John Barr; Alexander Barr bc1748-1827; Allan d1821, If I can find a gravestone in Edinburgh for Allan Barr it might give his age? [He married Janet Reid] Glasgow area or Lanarkshire is the area where I believe they were all born. Also cannot find a Will for the said John Barr

Looking for any information on the children of Rev John Barr Minister of Dovehill Relief Church Glasgow and his wife Eliza/Elizabeth Houston married 14 Dec 1813 in Glasgow Scotland.  Rev John Barr died 18 Mar 1839 in Rothesay Bute. I think he was born about 1777. His wife Eliza/Elizabeth Houston died 8 sept 1877 at Motherwell, aged 81yrs b about 1796 maybe in Greenock. [I have a copy of her Death Certificate. Informant was her grandson John Colville

I also have a copy of Rev John Barr’s Will, in the Will he mentioned his children, John his eldest son, Elizabeth, William, Janet, Robert, James and George. I have found the birth/bapt of George Elliot Barr 19/10/1821 b Houston; (1) Janet Barr 18/04/1814/ Janet Barr 11/12/1820 Glasgow; John Barr 27/7/1824 Houston; and Robert Barr 28/5/1825 Glasgow;   (if John was the eldest child then George Elliott Bar1821 and (1} Janet Barr 1814 must have died) (I have all the info I need on Janet Barr 1820 as I know she married David Colville in 1845 at Campbeltown, Argyllshire}
 I have searched the Census from 1841 to 1871 and cannot find Eliza/Elizabeth Houston/Barr or John Barr 1824; Robert Barr 1825; and also the Birth/ Bapt of Elizabeth Barr; William Barr; James Barr; and George Barr

Newspaper; At Tynemouth Church, on the 30th Mr Robert Usher Clark, Mariner, son of the late Robert Usher Clark, of Jarrow to Mary Stothard, daughter of the late Mr Robert Robson, of North Shields, surgeon.
I think Robert Robson, surgeon, married Mary Young, dau of Robert Young and Eleanor Stothard on 24 March 1814 at South Shields. and had 7 children
Looking for Robert Robson's parents, and when he died, a gravestone inscription would help?
