Staffordshire / WW1 Rowley Regis enlistment help
« on: Thursday 08 May 14 21:37 BST (UK)  »
Hi,

I'm looking into individuals who fought in WW1 from the Rowley Regis / Cradley Heath area of the West Midlands. I'd like to know where they may have enlisted, Stourbridge or Dudley possibly. I'd also like to know where they trained and what regiments they were likely to have joined from this area. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Many Thanks
Regards
Kevin

Worcestershire / Wrights Lane / Temple Meadow School
« on: Thursday 19 April 12 10:51 BST (UK)  »
I’m looking for ex pupils or teachers of Temple Meadow primary in Wrights Lane oldhill. I’ve been writing about the history of our school and gained much of the information from old log books which exist from when the school opened on 1st July 1900. I’m looking for photographs, stories however ordinary or extraordinary they are, old school reports, teachers name and what years they taught, I’d be very grateful of any information received. Any information would of course be acknowledged in the final product, I already have a few bits and pieces but I’d love more stories, reports, photos or anything to do with our school.

Worcestershire Lookup Requests / Sykes / Taylor burial lookup please
« on: Sunday 31 October 10 23:00 GMT (UK)  »
Hi,

Its brick wall time for me. I'm looking for information on Sykes and Taylor burials.

Philip John Sykes, Born in London in 1850, shows on the 1901 census (age 51). His wife was Maria and was listed as a coal miner in 1901 and living in Rowley Regis. I know his son is buried at Rowley Crem.

Also, Francis (AKA Frank), born in Rowley Regis, married to Olive and listed as a coalminer in 1911, he died in November 1941 and I'm desperate to trace him.

All help greatfully received
Thankyou

Worcestershire / Wrights Lane School / Temple Meadow School, Oldhill

I've been researching our local school, now called Temple Meadow, previously called Wrights Lane school. I have two original bound hand written log books from the school dating from the opening in 1900 until 1948 that detaileveryday occurrences, reports, admissions etc.  I'm trying to find any pictures, school reports or any information I can get on the school. I'd especially like some information on the head teachers. Annie L Shuck was the first head mistress until 1908, succeeded by Edith Hannah Gill. I'm keen to find any surviving documentation anyone is willing to share, school reports, photos etc.

Thanks all.
