Hi,

Does anyone have access to the above publication please.

I would be grateful for any information that it gives for Private T (Thomas) JENKINS, no 1414.

He was my wife's great grandfather, was in the Shropshire Light Infantry and was killed on 8 Jan 1901 in Belfast SA. We already have quite a lot about him and his death just wondering whether In Memoriam adds to the info,

Thanks

Monmouthshire Lookup Requests / John DIX and family on 1911 census
« on: Friday 09 November 18 17:58 GMT (UK)  »
I wonder if some kind soul with access to the 1911 census would look up the entry for John DIX on the 1911 census. He was born about 1856 in Newport. He was married to Sophia and had children as follows: Edith, Rose, Arthur, Hilda, Elsie and Ester. I am trying to determine whether Arthur was still alive in 1911 and where they were living. But all the information on the census would be great if it is not too much trouble.

Thanks

Sussex / EVEREST and GURR of Westham/Hastings/Chiddingly
« on: Monday 26 February 18 16:46 GMT (UK)  »
My 3 x Great grandparents were William EVEREST and Harriet GURR. They married on 13 September 1807 in St Nicholas Church, Pevensey, Sussex..

They appear on the 1841 census in St Leonards.
By 1851 William has died and Harriet appears on the census as a widow aged 62 from Westham and then on the 1871 census she is listed as 83 from Westham. She dies in Oct 1877 aged 90.
I cannot find her in 1861 census.

This gives her date of birth as roughly 1787/8/9.

I have found through Ancestry transcription of FHL parish records the baptism of a Harriot GURR in Chiddingly, Sussex on the 24 May 1790 (with a DOB of 21 Feb 1790). Father John GURR, mother Mary.

Does anyone else recognise this Harriot GURR as part of their family tree so that I can disount her from my own.

Census Lookup and Resource Requests / Charles Henry GOODE/Susan FLETCHER 1871
« on: Saturday 30 December 17 17:38 GMT (UK)  »
Hi,

I am looking for Charles Henry GOODE (or any C H GOODE) on census records to see whether my great Grandmother is in the same household. She was Susannah (Susan) FLETCHER (born in 1854) and I have a watch given to her by a Mrs C H GOODE in 1874, I assume when she left the employment of the GOODE household. The most likely census date would be the 1871 edition.

Any help would be much appreciated.

Thanks

Free Photo Restoration & Date Old Photographs / When and how old?
« on: Sunday 12 May 13 11:43 BST (UK)  »
I attach photos of two of my ancestors who I cannot place. I would be grateful for guidance as to when the photos might have been taken and how old you think the people are. They are both originally in oval framings. They are not necessarily related or of the same era.

Thanks

Hi,

I am looking for the birth/baptism record for Mary CROSBY daughter of Isaac Samuel CROSBY and Margaret Ursula (nee WOODS). Her parents were married in St Stephens, Coleman Street which is in London EC2 near Moregate in 1801 and there is a baptism for a sibling in 1806 in Stepney. I thin Mary was born between the two events. Later siblings were baptised in St Giles in the Fields, Drury Lane.

I have found Mary Crosby baptisms but so far none with the right parent names. Any assistance would be much appreciated,

Thanks

Hi,

I have been transcribing my 3 x Great Grandmothers will. She was Margaret Ursula CROSBY (nee WOODS) and died in 1830. In the will she mentions a Mary TISDALL as one of her daughters and apppoints a Joseph TISDALL as one of her executors.

I would like to trace the marriage record between Mary CROSBY and a TISDALL (possibly Joseph) and probably in or around St Giles in the Fields. Any help would be much appreciated.

Thanks

Hi,

I have just obtained a copy of the will of my 7 x great grandmother who died in 1767 and is buried in Combe Florey church. In the will she leaves money for two marble monuments as follows:

1 In Combe Florey church to "my late dear husband and myself" Frances CRIDLAND (nee HARRISON) and husband Richard CRIDLAND

2 In West Quantoxhead church to "my late dear father and mother" who were Ames and Margery HARRISON

I wonder whether anyone on the list lives locally to either church and would be able to see whether her request was fulfilled and the monuments still exist. The will says IN the church so I assume they are inside the churches concerned so more likely to be conserved than if they were in the churchyard. The one in West Quantoxhead might well be a family vault of some type.

I have searched on line but have drawn a blank for MIs in either church.

Any assistance will be much appreciated,

Thanks

Warwickshire Lookup Requests / Charles FLORIDAY burial 1824 - Birmingham
« on: Saturday 18 February 12 16:41 GMT (UK)  »
Hi,

Familysearch.org has a listing for the burial of Charles FLORIDAY on 24 Mar 1824 aged 43 in Birmingham, Warwick. Unfortunately no indication of specific Birmingham parish is given.

Does any kind soul have access to the original record to see whether there is any further information given about this chappie?

Very grateful for any assistance as always

Cheers
