Staffordshire / Lost Lettice
« on: Wednesday 12 December 12 19:07 GMT (UK)  »
Heres what I have:

Lettie Helen Agar, buried 27 May 1907. Aston, Birmingham
Lettie Helen Agar, baptised 6 Apr 1902, Ashted Warwick.
Parents: Batholomew Agar and Lettice Bonser Agar

Batholomew Agar marries Lettice Bonser Rhodes Dec qtr 1901 Aston

I have Bartholomew pre marriage and Lettice with her family pre 1900. born circa 76. Her parents are Charles and Mary A Rhodes and they live in Oldbury Worcs.

In 1911 Bartholomew is living in his brothers home and stated as a Widow.  With him are Charley Agar and William Agar, stated as nephews to HOH so I assume Bartholomews children.
I have a birth entry for Charles Bartholomew Agar Jun qtr 1903

I can find no birth entry for a William Agar.

Can anyone please see if they can find a death entry for Lettice?? Or her in 1911?
I am assuming with both names easily mistranscribed they are listed incorrectlly, but my eyes are falling out now! :-[

Thanks for looking

Handwriting Deciphering & Recognition / shed some light please
« on: Wednesday 28 November 12 14:05 GMT (UK)  »
I have today received a death certificate for a 35 yr old lady.  The cause of Death is described as ...
Fever 9 days abortion certified

Does this mean that the lady had an abortion and then contracted a fever (an infection I assume) which killed her 9 days later.

Or does abortion mean something else? as in end of her life? or possibly a miscarriage?

Thank you

World War One / One and the same??
« on: Tuesday 26 June 12 14:48 BST (UK)  »
Hi all,
Im not very good with military look ups so please forgive me!
I have found on the absent voters list in 1918 John William Parrish (my g.grandfather possibly) registered at 3 back 34 Alexandra Street, Birmingham: 215700 Gnr. RAF.
I presume this to be his Number? and position and Regiment?
There seems to be a lot of soldiers registered at this address? Can someone tell me why please?
I have also found on the National Roll:
Parrish J.W. Gunner RFA (note previously says RAF is one a typing error or are they not the same person?)
This tells me that this JW volunteered but was refused on medical grounds but was then called up in 1917, he served in France and Germany and demobilised in 1919.
It then has an address 79, Anderton Street, Ladywood, Birmingham (Is this his home address?)
I have a sub to FindMyPast but am struggling to find any service records.
If someone could find these, and or answer any of theses questions I would be most grateful.

Thanks for reading

Hampshire & Isle of Wight / IOW Wyatt
« on: Wednesday 02 May 12 19:40 BST (UK)  »
Hi All
I am trying to find info on the Wyatt family from the Isle of wight

Particularly any info on James Wyatt married Martha Gill
in 1766 in Arreton
I understand they had 2 children George and Henry, not sure if there are any more at this stage.
And i beleive that James parents were Samuel Wyatt and Mary
In 1841 George was a carpenter and in 51 a Shipwright.

I seem to have drawn a blank tracing history in the IOW and would be most grateful if anyone could shed any further light or point me in the right direction of where to look

Thanks

Family History Beginners Board / Marriage please..John and Eliza
« on: Monday 13 June 11 17:38 BST (UK)  »
Hi,

I have a John Clancey and an Eliza in 1891 in Birmingham.  There oldest child, Lily, being born c1883.  I cannot find a marriage for this couple  :(

They both state pob as Birmingham Warwickshire, however this maybe incorrect as the children are down as pob Birmingham but are stated in later census as pob Guernsey. I cant find John after 1891 but Eliza continues to state pob as Birmingham.

Thank you
