Armed Forces / military records
« on: Saturday 11 February 06 15:27 GMT (UK)  »
Hi: I was wondering if I could get some help to find my G/Grandfathers (Thomas James Wingrove)  service records. I know that he was stationed at the R M Barracks in Chatham in 1892 when he got married from his marriage license and was still there in 1901 from census records. I am told that he participated in the boxer rebellion in 1900 but I don't know what ship he served on or or anything else about his military record. I wolud also like to find some records of his oldest son Bernard Augustus Wingrove who served with the Royal West Kents during WW1 and was killed at the Somme in Mar. of 1916.

    Thanks, Nick Wingrove

Buckinghamshire Lookup Requests / Looking for Wingroves in Bucks
« on: Saturday 03 December 05 06:09 GMT (UK)  »
Hi, My name is Nick Wingrove and I live in Canada, I have been researching my family tree for about a year now. I have gotten some very reliable information from some very good sources on the Wingrove family. I am reasonably certain that I can trace my family back to William Wingrove b, Feb 14 1732 and Sarah Westfield b. ? in Wooburn Bucks. I have information from other unconfirmed soursce that go back to Jerome Jeromy Wingrove b. 1585 in Penn, Bucks who married Mary Marie in 1608. I have found rootschat to be a very good source for finding information about my family, so I thought I would give this a shot and see if there are any Wingroves or Wingrove experts out there who might be able to help me verify the information that I already have.

  Any takers, Nick

Occupation Interests / police service records
« on: Tuesday 01 November 05 03:02 GMT (UK)  »
I need help to find my G/G/Grandfather John J Reynolds who was born approx. 1853 in Royston Cambridgeshire. On the 1881 and 1891 census's he gives his occupation as a police constable. Since they lived in Hackney I would assume he was on the London force. My problem is that there are several John Reynolds that were born in the Royston area of Cabridgeshire in the mid 1850's so I was hoping that I might find some more clues in his police service record. Would somebody care to help me with this?

  Thanks, Nick Wingrove

Yorkshire (North Riding) Lookup Requests / I need some help
« on: Wednesday 26 October 05 22:37 BST (UK)  »
My name is Nick Wingrove and I need some help. I am trying to trace my G/Grandfather Charles Harman. I have a record of his second marriage to my G/Grandmother Catherine Kelly in 1901 but I can't find anything on him prior to that. I know he was married and had two sons Charles and Jack and was a widower. I have a record of a Charles Harman marrying Mary Ann Ward in the Sept quarter of 1892 but I need to know if his fathers name was Charles also, so in order to avoid the expense of ordering a marriage license I was hoping somebody could do a lookup for me. There is also a record of a Mary A Harman who died in the March quarter of 1999 which would seem to fit.  I don't seem to be able to find any census records or birth records in Middlesbrough during this period.

  thanks in advance, Nick

« on: Wednesday 26 October 05 02:30 BST (UK)  »
Greetings from Canada: My name is Nick Wingrove and I live in Ontario Canada but I was born in England a long time ago. I am looking for the family of my G/Grandmother Alice Gertrude Reynolds. I have her marriage license to  John William Morley Dec 5 1909 in Hackney. (I have a record of her birth from free BMD in 1882). It's hard to read the name on the marriage license but I think her fathers name was Wiliam  and was an ex-police officer.  They lived at 5 Maury Rd. in Hackney at the  time of the marriage. Two of the witnesses to sign were Fanny Reynolds and Lillian Beatrice Reynolds. Any help to find the rest of the family would be greatly appreciated.

 thanks in advance, Nick
