Thanks to Findmypast, I have found my grandfather Albert Jenkins name on the school register of St. Mary's School in 1921.  He was living in 13 Mary's Abbey, Dublin at the time.  Not sure if Mary's Abbey is  Dublin 1 or Dublin 7.   Does anyone know where this school was/is ?  Thank you.

« on: Wednesday 29 October 14 21:04 GMT (UK)  »
Would someone be able to check what type of shop was operating at 63 New Street, Dublin in 1908.  I have checked the Dublin Electoral Register for that year and see that my gg grandfather, Michael McCormack, was living there and he was renting a shop and parlour.  Thanks in advance.

Offaly (Kings) / andrew & norah delany/delaney
« on: Friday 21 September 12 17:29 BST (UK)  »
Hi, Andrew Delany/Delaney (he spelled it both ways on the census forms) was my great grandfather.  He was from Kings County.  He was married to Norah who was from Queens County.  I believe the marriage took place around 1898 or thereabouts.  They lived in Montpelier Hill in Dublin from the time of the 1901 census until their deaths.
Could anyone help me find out where in Offaly Andrew was from and what was Norah's maiden name and where was she from in Laois.  We do have Egan relatives in or near Edenderry if thats of any help.  Thanks in advance.

Dublin / Albert & Florence Jenkins
« on: Tuesday 24 January 12 20:45 GMT (UK)  »
Would someone be able to give me some advice.  My grandfather, Albert Jenkins and his sister (twin?), Florence Jenkins were born in or around 1912 give or take maybe two years either side.  Their parents were William and Annie Jenkins.Unfortunately, I have been unable to locate them in the Birth Registers, even though I can find their siblings. They may have been living in the Rathdown area or around Capel Street, Dublin 1.  Florence died around 1939/1940 and my grandfather in 1978.  Would someone be able to point me in the right direction.  Thank you in advance.

Dublin / McCormacks Shoemakers - Lookup Please
« on: Tuesday 24 January 12 20:36 GMT (UK)  »
My gg grandfather and his son, both called Michael McCormack, were shown on the 1901 census as being Shoemakers.  They were resident in Patrick Street, Dublin 8 at the time of the census.  Would there have been a McCormack's Shoemakers shop somewhere in the vicinity at the time.  Thank you

Dublin / Jenkins family Dun Laoghaire
« on: Saturday 06 March 10 20:15 GMT (UK)  »
Seeking information on Jenkins family who lived in Coldwell Street.  William Jenkins was head of family.  They were living in Russell Street in the 1911 census.

William Jenkins was married to a lady named Annie Doyle.  William was Church of Ireland and Annie was Roman Catholic.  These two were my maternal greatgrandparents.  We understood in the family that William was Welsh, but on the 1911 census he was listed as having been born in Dublin.

Would anyone have information on either of them.  I know they had a number of children, of which my grandfather was one and was familiar with a number of his siblings, John, Alexander and Annie.  My grandad was Albert.

I would be very interested to hear if William Jenkins was actually Welsh by birth (I know Jenkins is a common Welsh name) and if he had any siblings.  Also if anyone had any info on Annie Doyle.  Thanks

My greatgrandmother was Maria McCormack nee Frewen.  Would anyone have any information on the Frewen family who were living at Hanover Lane in the 1911 census.  I know her brother's name was William because he was buried with my grandmother and died in the 1950s.  Many thanks.

Dublin / John and Hugh Donnelly
« on: Monday 01 March 10 17:19 GMT (UK)  »
Hi new to this great forum and wondering if anyone can help.  My grandfather Hugh Donnelly died in 1952.  He married Julia Delaney in 1935.  On the marriage cert his father was listed as John Donnelly, retired plumber deceased.  His best man was Michael Donnelly, who I have since discovered was his brother.  The family talk is that my grandfather Hugh had a number of brothers, but as I know nothing about my greatgrandmother, I am finding it difficult to look up anything about the brothers.   I think the family may have lived around Bride Street/Peter Street, as Michael was staying with his sister Mary Williams in the 1911 census.
