Dublin / knockmaroon Lodge

Hi I have my grandfather & grandmothers marriage cert 1923....it says the usual address for my grandmother Mary Hanlon was - Knockmaroon Lodge, Co Dublin.
Would anyone know what this was?

Could anyone help with a 1911 search for Alexander & his wife Annie.
I have found their wedding cert...married 30th Sept 1910
Alexander Marshall age 30  occ bottler
Annie Barbour (or Baillie-widow) age 25  occ earthenware hawker
Usual address 21 Commercial road, Glasgow.

I have found Annies death cert...died 1958, widow of Alexander, age 74, usual residence 40 Wolsey Street, Glasgow.

I cannot find them in the 1911 census...used loads of credits on Scotspeople..but cannot for the life of me find them!!!

Ireland / Samuel Wright & Hannah Bell

I have just downloaded an ancestors scottish birth certificate it states that his parents are Samuel Wright 35 (so born around 1820) born Co of Armagh and Hannah Wright nee Bell also 35 born Co of Fermanagh.  It also says they were married 1834 Belfast.
I am new to Irish research....can anyone advise me how to progress...i.e Samuel & Hannah wedding records? or their birth records?

I have the marriage cert of Arthur Devlin & Elizabeth Wright 1857....Elizabeth's father John Wright...mother ?? Can anyone decipher the mothers name??

Hi,
I am hoping that these two signatures are from the same person....the first is 1905(William Douglas) and the second (Wm Douglas) is 1925.
I have been researching my grandad William Douglas family....which has been a problem as he ran away from Scotland in 1920 as his dad (also William Douglas) married a lady he didn't like, this is all he would say about his family he left behind.  We have a copy of grandads birth cert (passed to my dad when he died).  I found grandad with his father William and his mother Hannah Wright (illigitimate) in the 1911 census

Head  William Douglas  32 Mason
son    William Douglas     5  at school
boarder  Hannah Wright  domestic servant



 and worked back from there.  My problem was there are so many William Douglas....so I have looked at all of those that tied in with about the right d.o.b and only one shows as a Mason.
I found that William Douglas (my great grandfather) married in 1920 (year my grandad said he ran away) and had another son in 1925.  During my research I found another person also researching the same family....we got in touch and they told me they had my grandad original birth cert but never knew who it was....but do not believe we are the same family.
Does anyone think that these two signatures are the same person?  I am at a lost now to prove I have the right William Douglas!!

Hi, Could anyone help?
I have been trying for months to find Janet Boyd Wright in the 1911 census.  I have found her in 1901

Bridgeton, Glasgow
Nellie       Campbell  head  48
Janet       Campbell  daug  18
Christina  Campbell     "     12
Janet       Wright      adopted daug  3  (although she was 2 1/2)

I have found her mother Hannah in the 1911 census with William Douglas and their son William (my grandad).  I have also found her father James in 1911.

I am hitting a brick wall trying to find Janet.....any help would be very much appreciated!!

Family History Beginners Board / Thomas Douglas

Hi all!
I am looking for my grandfather's brother Thomas Douglas.
Thomas was born in 19111 in Glasgow.  His parents were William Douglas and Hannah Wright (nee Devlin)
Thomas married Janet Skedd in 1933 (parents names recorded as William and Hannah Douglas probably didn't know he was illegitimate) and by 1938 had 3 children *
Thomas ( Seaforth Highlanders) went to war a private.
Janet his wife died in 1940 in Edinburgh.
I am trying to discover what happened to Thomas ( I cant find that he died during the war).
I would be very grateful for any advice on where to look for anymore info on Thomas.
I cannot find a death certificate .....I have looked on Scotland records..but cant find anything.  I remember my father telling me my grandfathers brother did visit once in England but cannot trace a death cert in England either! ???
Can anyone help?
