South Africa / Moore family
« on: Tuesday 13 February 24 13:04 GMT (UK)  »
I have a Henry George Moore born 1904 in England and his brother Leonard born 1907 in England.  I know both of their parents died in the Durban area and both Leonard and Henry George married.  Henry 1926 to Adele Esther Thole in Greytown Natal and Leonard 1937 to Winifred Ansell in  Durban Natal.   I am wondering what became of them.  Did they stay in South Africa, are there any deaths registered of them as I cannot find anything more.  I would be grateful if anybody has any information.

Armagh / Bishop family
« on: Monday 11 July 22 20:01 BST (UK)  »
I have a family of George Bishop b1871 in Thakeham Sussex.  In 1895 in Armagh He married Mary Gillen b1876 in Armagh whilst he was in the British army.  They had six children together in Ireland. Francis Henry 1895, Mary 1897, Josephine Elizabeth 1904, Vincent George 1906,  Patrick Edward 1909 and John Joseph 1913.  All born in Armagh.  I have the 1901 and 1911 census.  Is anybody able to tell me where this family ended up. George died 1941 and Mary 1934 but I can't remember where I got that info from or where they died.

Bedfordshire / Mary Wilkins
« on: Saturday 18 December 21 08:39 GMT (UK)  »
I have a Mary Wilkins who married a James Sargeant in 1772 Podington.  I have her birth about 1746 in Podington.  Where I got her birth from I cannot remember but I am wondering if somebody could confirm this and if so who her parents could be.  It would be good to break through this brick wall which I hit quite a while back.

Somerset / Blagdon
« on: Friday 22 January 21 08:45 GMT (UK)  »
I have tried for over fifteen years to get back further than my gt. grandfather John William Dyer frustratingly so. He was born about 1843 and on the census says birth Devon sometimes putting Blagdon and another Bishops Hull.  I won't go into to much detail with my searches but today I found a Blagdon village Haines Hill Middleway Taunton and it is near Bishops Hull.  Looking into it there is a church named St Andrews.  Does anybody have any idea as to whether there are any baptism records for there. I haven't found him on the Bishops Hull baptisms which I looked at a few years ago. If there are baptisms for St Andrews I doubt as to whether I will find him there but it is worth a try.  This must be the area as my grandmother came from Taunton.  He may not have been baptised I know and looking at the registered births may not have been registered plus if he was without a middle name.  All this I have looked into.  Have I finally cracked where he originated !! I do hope so.

Australia / A disappearance of Gertrude Phyllis Coxhead born 1897
« on: Thursday 18 June 20 12:59 BST (UK)  »
A Gertrude Phyllis Coxhead born 1897 left England for Australia in 1920. She sailed from Liverpool heading for Sydney on the Argyllshire ship and now has disappeared.  If anybody has any information as to whether she married or died over there I would be grateful. Or maybe she returned to the UK but I cannot find any evidence  of her doing so.

I have found a death of a Jack Methven in Scotland 1920 and it states St Clement R.D.  I know R.D. means rural district but cannot find where St Clement would have been.  Has anybody any idea please.

New Zealand Completed Requests / James Edward Rabbitt
« on: Friday 16 March 18 16:25 GMT (UK)  »
I have just found that James Edward Rabbitt who married in 1903 Leicestershire UK to an Ada either Barrowcliff or Marriott moved to New Zealand somewhere between 1903 and 1911. I haven't found any emigration records but have come across electoral records, city and area records and burial records but I would love to know if they had any children.  Is anybody able to help? They died in Karori Wellington and seem to have lived most of their lives in Wellington.

Maybe they never had any children but if they did it would be nice to know.
