Staffordshire completed Look up Requests / Staffordshire 1861 - Swarbrook(e)
« on: Tuesday 20 July 04 15:42 BST (UK)  »
Hi there gwarwick

Thank you for your very kind offer to do a lookup in the 1861 census for Staffordshire.

I have some ancestors who moved around the Silk Mills of Macclesfield, Derby, Nottingham and Paisley in Scotland before finishing up in Leek Staffordshire.

I know they were in Leek on the 1871, 81, 91 and 01 census, but not exactly sure when they moved there or where they were in 1861 or 1851

Any help to locate them would be appreciated

William Swarbrook(e) born Macclesfied 1804
Margaret (nee Whylie) born Paisley Scotland 1827
James born Paisley Scotland 1852
Sarah Jane born Maythorne, Southwell, Notts 1856
George born 1860 in Derby

Thanks

Hi there Doug Lewis

Can you see if any of the following are on the cd's

World War I
Swarbrooke / Swarbrook - I know of two brotheres with the Leicestershire Regiment who both died in WWI - are their any more entries please.

Eastwood, Charles Edmund - Lieut, T.F.R; R.A.F.

World War II
Any person with the Surname Swarbrooke / Swarbrook, but I am not aware of any.

Eastwood as above - not sure if he was still alive.

I expect there are to many 'Eastwoods' to list, but am looking for Eastwoods from West Riding of Yorkshire.

Thanks Doug

Radnorshire / 'Bowen' in Wales
« on: Thursday 04 March 04 18:38 GMT (UK)  »
Hi Welsh Researchers

I would appreciate some help in furthering my information on Winifred Bowen of Presteigne (born 1884) and who married a Henry Lister of Presteigne (born 1881) at Presteigne in June 1904.
According to their marraige certificate her father is listed as Thomas Bowen, Farm Labourer.
I can not find either Winifred or her father Thomas on the 1891 census for England or Wales when she would have been about 6 years old - but I have got her on the 1901 aged 16, and a domestic servant - but no sign of Thomas.
Can anyone help me put this family together properly please

Thankyou

Listermint
