hI All.
  Just wondering if any kind person could help me with the problem of john barclay born 1844/5 merthyr glam. parents were john and catherine barclay. in 1851 Hirwaen 1861 in aberdare 1871 Bedwellty married 1874 bedwellty to catherine evans. Now this is were it gets a bit strange john and catherine are now in living in herbert st. treorchy in 1881 census but thier name changed to vaughan?  also in 1891 census living river row treorchy still have the name vaughan can anyone shed some light on as to why the name changed as he later goes back to barclay name.I was told that john barclay 1844 was a deserter  and went to merthyr police station to give hiself up in 1890 29th may. he was in west yorkshire infantry . but have no proof of this so maybe thats why he changed his name .
  Any help appreciated with this puzzle of barclay/vaughan  family.

Hi. Wonder if anyone can help me find the Davies family I have them in the 1871 census and 1891 census but cannot find them in 1861 or in 1881 census.
 1871 census they were living in 99 tynybedw ystradyfodwh treorchy
william davies head aged 42 born 1829 in llansawel carmarthen he was a labourer
Ann wife age 42 born 1929 Llangadock carmarthen
Mary daughter 11 born 1860 aberdare glam
Elizabeth daughter aged 8 born 1863 glam.
Daniel son aged 4 born 1867 blaenllechau glam.
william J son aged 10 mths born 1871 glam.

 1891 census Myrtle hill high st. ystradyfodwg treorchy.
Ann davies head widow aged 61 1830 carmarthen


Daniel son aged 23 born 1868 weigher glam
william j son age 20 born 1871 clerk glam
thomas jones son in law married 40 1851 cwmaman
eliza jones daughter married 28 1863 ystradyfodwg
eliza A jones 5
william T jones 3
mary M 2 glam

Ijust cannot find them in ystradyfodwg area at all any help would be much appreciated jere.

I have acquired from a house in treorchy a ww1 freedom and honour memorial medal which was given at the time to the next of kin of ALFRED AUGUSTUS CROCKETT he died in the war if any one knows the whereabouts of the crockett family please get in touch as i am more than happy to return it to them. Alfred was a private serving in the 18th Bn of the welsh regiment he died 13th april 1918 Alfred was born in 1882 at the time of the 1911 census living with mother sarah and 2 brothers william james born 1876 charles born 1885 also 2 sisters emily 1880 and elizabeth born 1891 all living at 72 dumfries st. treorchy.

Can anyone find a a baptism record for erasmus higgs born about 1810/11 in Llanbadarn Fynydd Radnorshire  erasmus married sarah Lloyd in 1852 sarah was born in montgomery 1861 census they were living pentrethivior penycoed Livior montgomery RG number RG09 PIECE 4254 FOLIO 78 PAGE 11 cannot find erasmus prior to this. any help very much appreciated jere.

Hi. Please have anyone got any baptism parish records and marriage records for glasbury, ST. PETER .I have found my family back there or so i think? john jeremiah baptised feb.7th 1725 fathers name was roger jeremiah and mothers name was maudlin? they had 2 more daughters baptised ther mary nov. 14th 1724 and jane sept. 24th 1725 they stated on johns baptism record that they were of aberllynfi . trying to find a marriage to get maudlins surname and to see if they both were born there. son john ended up in monmouthshire Goytre.
