Montgomeryshire / Llanidloes Cemeteries
« on: Wednesday 22 September 10 16:58 BST (UK)  »
Hi everyone
I'm searching for my G Grandmother's sister named Ellen williams. She married a schoolteacher who worked in Llawryglyn school untill his retirement in 1909. They moved to Glandwr Villas, Llanidloes but Grlfith (one F) L. Williams died in 1910 & I'm convinced he was buried in the town. I'm after Ellens date of death. There's a nice Obit to him in the local paper. They are not in the big cemetery by the hospital nor in Llawryglyn. I notice there is a locked cemetery near Glandwr Villas & I'm told that it was the Methodist cemetery for China St M.C. Chapel. Does anyone have any further info about it. It seemed very overgrown for such a centre of town sit; are there any records of burials there.

Hi
Does anyone know anything about the above or any descendants of? He was one of Merioneth's "old poets" and responsible for the englyn that contained the words "beibl i bawb o bobol y byd".
He lived in the Pandy Isa, Rhiwaedog, Llanfor, and had four daughters, Jane Margaret, Ellinor & Elizabeth. One of these married my GGG grandather Evan Jones of which I'm researching.
many thanks.

Does anybody know anything about this vry early Methodist chapel that closed in 1967? I'm trying to trace ancestors who are not in the Llanfor nor Llanycil Parish registers when born in 1808&1818 and were almost certainly baptised at the above chapel near Rhosygwalia near Bala. The National Library has no records in their Non -parochial registers. It would be handy if anyone knows whether a cemetery exists now?

Hi,
My GG Grandfather is buried in Llanllyfni. He died in Towyn in Feb 1898 but wished to be buried in his native town. Can anybody tell me whether he'd be in Llanllyfni Churchyard or Macpeleh cemetery in Penygroes given the above date??
Thanks

« on: Thursday 29 April 10 23:11 BST (UK)  »
Hi,
I wonder if anybody could help me. I'm searching for an Evan Verulam Jones. It's said he made the war memorial at Penygroes as he was a Stonemason.
I know he lived in Chapel Street Penygroes but have no idea if he was a local man. I would be grateful if anybody has any info about he above.

Merionethshire / Pandy isaf, Llanfor near Bala.

Hi,
I'm researching my family history and have traced back to Robert Williams the Bard 1744-1815 of above address, Tre Rhiwaedog. He left a will and had 4 daughters, Margaret, Jane, Elinor & Elizabeth. There is now a missing link as one of these would have married a ??? Jones who was the father of John Jones 1818-1873. He didn't live in Pandy Isa as the censuses show an Edward Hughes to be living there.
Futher-more, on the latest O.S. maps there is no trace now of Panda Isa but is clearly shown on the Tithe Maps in the National Libraray of Wales.
Any Clues????
