Glamorganshire Completed Lookups / 1911 Censu-Glamorganshire
« on: Wednesday 16 February 11 21:25 GMT (UK)  »
I am trying to find the entries of the 1911 Census for  Wales  for my wife's family but I am finding my returns. The one problem is the name of DAVIES. Thry lived in Gwyn Street,Alltwen, Cellibeddith,Pontadawe(exc use the spelling but I am English) The other grandparents lived in Llantrisant wand were called TILLING. Neither name brings an answer. "Findmypast" say that the householder filled in the form and the enumerator only filled in the head of household on the summary sheet. Was there a revolt in completeing the form? Please help as this causing me problems with she who must be obeyed. Gerald

Completed Census Requests / Lost in Llanwonno-NORRIS 1901-completed
« on: Saturday 01 October 05 11:33 BST (UK)  »
Priscilla Norris (nee Gibby b. Narberth PEM 1844) and Annie NORRIS (b.1881 Llanwonno GLA ) appear on all census until 1901 when they disappear. Priscilla's son George is at 60, Charles St., Porth. Annie married from this address in November 1901 and Priscilla died in 1910. Also missing is Mary Anne(Polly) but she had probably married.
There seem to be big changes in the Rhondda local government at this time.
Can anyone help me with these missing links?

Armed Forces / Royal Marine
« on: Tuesday 06 September 05 15:32 BST (UK)  »
I am also looking for a Royal Marine- Edwin Tilling from Daglingworth GLos. He enlisted about 1860. I found him in 1861 and 1871 census on board HMS Orion in Weymouth but he gave his name as Telling and birthplace as Wiltshire.
So try census in Weymouth.
I really am searching for his service record as we know he served in India and South Africa. So any help apptreciated.

US Lookup Requests / Yeomans- Colorado Springs CO
« on: Tuesday 30 August 05 22:31 BST (UK)  »
2 of my great uncles left Horsley DBY and went to Colorado Springs. Joseph went in 1898, followed by his bride to be Florence. James William went in 1903 and married Anne Carman . They ran adrycleaning business called Pantatorium.
I have the immigration certs. and entries in thecensus until 1930.
However the wives are the proble (as ever). I need the marriage details to find Florence's maiden name and English origins. The two daughters have disappeared in the 1930 census- probably married.
Any ideas, please?
Gerald.

In 1890, Ralph Tilling was indentured to the Grimsby Steam Fishing Co. Ltd for 5 years on the vessel Una. Can I trace him through the censusof 1891 or other records?
