London & Middlesex Lookup Requests / HELP! ELLEN ANN JONES (1937)

My Mum is trying to find out what happened to her birth mother, ELLEN ANN JONES.
From the information that we have, Mum was born in May 1937 at Twyford Lodge, Willesden which was the local workhouse and is now the Central Middlesex Hospital. She was adopted in October 1937.
Her Birth Certificate states that her birth mother, Ellen Jones, was a shop assistant who worked/lived at 9 Selland Avenue, Willesden.
However, we don't know how old Ellen was when she gave birth and we've hit a brick wall in trying to find out any further information.
Any advice and/or help would be greatly appreciated. Many thanks.
