« on: Monday 22 August 05 21:41 BST (UK)  »
Hi all.
I have found out that ann Rose was married on February 4th 1905 to John William Clay in Mansfield. Her father was Thomas Rose, a coal miner. The only match that I can find for ann and her father were from Rowley Regis Staffs. Would these be the same people?, at the time of thier marriage, they lived in shirebrook, was one or the other following work perhaps? any help appreciated

Flintshire / Marriage lookup please.
« on: Saturday 16 April 05 20:07 BST (UK)  »
Hi There.
Would someone kindly look up a marriage for me. John clay & Elizabeth?. They are both down on the census as being born in Bangor, but John was born in Nottinghamshire. In the 1881 census the age for john is 21 and Elizabeth 20. Three of thier children were supposedly born in wrexham, Elizabeth, John.W and Jane. They show up in the 1891 census living in nottingham John is 28 and Elizabeth is 27?. I hope that they are all the same family, Im 99% sure they are, but any info would be appreciated

I have found some ancestors and according to the census info, they were born in NRESCHAM DERBYSHIRE. Does this place really exist, if so where is it, or is it a spelling error, ???
Thanks

Nottinghamshire / Surname Rose Part 2!
« on: Thursday 14 April 05 13:16 BST (UK)  »
Hi Folks
At Last the certificate for Ann Rose has arrived! Now i have more to go on.
She was married on 4 february 1905 to John William Clay and was aged 19 years, so she was born c1885.
Her father was called Thomas Rose and his occupation is down as a Coalminer, this is'nt much of a suprise, as my family for generations were coalminers, the suprise is they were both (john & Ann) listed as living in Shirebrook, which depending on whichever part of the village you are in is either Notts or Derbyshire, and is also the place where i was born and grew up! small world eh!
The only Thomas Rose with this occupation, and a daughter called Ann I can find, lived in Rowley Regis Staffs. Could this be the same person, or have I missed one somewhere? any help appreciated.
Regards
JUlie
